I was at the game tonight, and the very first pitch was fouled off. The guy sitting directly behind me caught it!!!!

If I had a glove, it would have been mine.

Within minutes, LSU staff was there asking him if would be willing to give up the ball to put in the Hall of Fame, and he did!!!!

He is getting a team signed ball for it!!!!

I would have held out for more than that if I would have ever considered giving it up.

A true Tiger fan definitely gives up the ball.

A guy behind me had a ball hit him in the hand and he dropped it over the wall. Everybody razzed him for a while.

That's weird bc I watched the guy get the Dean HR. No one ever came up to him...he left with the ball.

I took the first dump in one of the brand spankin' new toilets at the new box. Did they dig up my shite and save it in the hall of fame?

ETA: No I didn't. This thread is just retarded.

When I say I would have held out for more, I am not talking $$$. I may have given it on loan, but still be mine.

That was a piece of history. I am not talking a Bonds record breaking HR ball or anything, but it was important enough that LSU wanted that ball and it was his to keep.

This was the very first ball used, the first pitch. I think LSU was planning on removing the ball from the game after the first pitch.

Well he could have done whatever he wanted with it, and he decided to give it up.

FWIW I'm glad you didn't get the ball.

I would have given it up only if they would put my name under the display.

Maybe its just me but I would rather the team singed ball anyways.. Just tell them to write on it that he caught the 1st foul ball..

Gotcha, I think the first HR ball is pretty awesome too. If that guy hadn't made a jump for it, it was mine...

I have a foul ball from the UCI Game 3 though. Would have been cool to have ball from the first and last games...

Thats what I am saying.

I am a LSu sports collector and have quite a few rare pieces, but this would have been the pinnacle of my collection.

Right now it is this, the program from '59 Heisman ceremonies:

Yeah, my whole intentions was to go to the game to catch the first ball ever used at the new Alex Box so I can get some great LSU stuff.

I think LSU just offering a signed ball makes them more greedy than me. Actually they offered him a signed ball by Skip. When he wasn't sure, they offered the team ball. They know the historical value of the ball and they offer something you can buy off eBay at the end of the season for less than $100.

Hell I got Skips auto on the way out of the game:
