Marlie’s in French Settlement

Went today for lunch. Wife and I shared the crab balls with crab au gratin ap. Very good. Wife’s meal was the trio plate. It was crawfish pies, crawfish etouffe and seafood gumbo. All was very good. I had the catfish Acadiana. I’m not a fan of thin cut catfish so it was just ok. The crawfish etouffe was good tho. The portions are very generous. Have enough leftovers for dinner tonight. Overall it was very good. Will go back

Marlies is fantastic, some of the best food in the area in a very casual spot

I've heard great things about Marlie's but I've never been. Was told their steaks are great and there's a softshell crab pasta dish that will knock your socks off. I'm sure I'll make it out there, eventually.

Marlie’s is good. The owners are the wife and nephew (I think) of the original Charlie of Charlie’s in Springfield. If you liked old school Charlie’s, you’ll like Marlie’s and I do! :)

Yeah, I may have misspoke. Knew he worked at Charlie’s for a long time. For some reason I thought it was a nephew but maybe not. Charlie’s wife isn’t really an owner. She was just helping them get started. In the beginning, she was there all of the time, not sure about now.

Same here. It seemed like every time that we wanted to head over there, it would be closed for one reason or another. Everyone that has went has loved it.
