I understand there’s a big difference between coming out of the bullpen and being the Friday starter. Evan’s ceiling at 3 innings just ain’t cutting it. Thankfully a deep bullpen behind him. How long before he gets moved down? When he falls off he goes over a cliff. Not even close. He doesn’t fade. He disappears.

Cooper Moore will be the Friday night guy.

Maybe long enough to give Guidry time to work his way into a starting role. Obviously Jay knows more than us but Evans does seem better coming out the bullpen.

We someone to step up and be that ace. It's still very early though.

Are there any other potential starters on the staff?

Been saying this for a month or so. It was obvious in intrasquad play that this was the best course of action

He hasn’t looked so hot either.

I’m not at all worried. Season is brand spanking new. Lots of changes occur as we move forward. New guys in new roles and not everything works out as you originally plan. Had high hopes for both of them. They’ll be strong coming out of the pen. Next man up.

With Jay Johnson, as long as he wants. He is a mad scientist with his rosters. He has my trust completely.

He’s had some weird innings. But I think he’s more suited for a Sunday start type guy. We can’t be using half the bullpen every Friday going into a three game series

They are going to give him a plenty of time to work into being the ace. He might get moved to sat or sun starter but i dont see him going back to the pen

In what world is Guidry a starter? I like the guy, but I also live in reality.

The frick are you talking about?? A couple fluke plays allowed the half inning to go far longer than it should have. Always trying to be the 1st to give a hot take. You know more than Jay now??

I think you're right. Moore, then Schmidt, then Evans.

There’s a big need for confidence, success, and maturity on the mound at the back end of a big sec game. Guidry is that baw. Plus, he can pitch multiple times a weekend if not relegated to a starting role.

It's peculiarly similar of a situation to the Thatcher Hurd scenario at start of 2024. Hurd hadn't performed as you'd expect a Friday night guy to in preseason yet Jay gave him the opening start and he remained a starter briefly before being passed over on Fridays. I think Evans will remain a starting pitcher but he's got to turn the corner and limit his free passes and pitch count to do so effectively

Man this is his 2nd start. You people are so uninformed and unrealistic when it comes to the logistics of sports

Doesn’t seem to have it
