Indiana bill SB-27 has unanimously passed, 24-0. Not much can stop it now. #DaBears

Governor Mike Braun

Indiana is open for business, and our pro-growth environment continues to attract major opportunities like this partnership with the Chicago Bears. We’ve identified a promising site near Wolf Lake in Hammond and established a broad framework for negotiating a final deal. If approved, the proposed amendment to Senate Bill 27 puts forward the essential framework to complete this agreement, contingent upon site due diligence proceeding smoothly. The State of Indiana moves at the speed of business, and we’ve demonstrated that through our quick coordination between state agencies, local government, and the legislature to set the stage for a huge win for all Hoosiers. We have built a strong relationship with the Bears organization that will serve as the foundation for a public-private partnership, leading to the construction of a world-class stadium and a win for taxpayers.

The Gary Bears.

This has to suck if you’re a bears fan. I’d be pretty pissed off.

Or it'll be better like the Braves games are now?

Good thing Soldier Field lost its protective historic landmark status after the ugly renovations to modernization....

Now the city can tear it down, sell the parts and payback the local taxpayers their $500 million foot of the total bill.

Owners never need worry, always,a sucker in some other town.

I'm sure it will be as wildly successful and popular with the fanbase,as Levi...hope they make sure to have,WiFi in Hammond.

this seems like a move similar to the Skins moving to Landover, MD which was in a shitty part of town and a pain to get to

Wolf Lake seems to have pollution issues too let’s build a stadium there that brings in 100s of thousands of people!

Soldier field is such a dump. I went to a game there a few years ago. I took a piss at halftime and missed half the third quarter waiting in line and getting stuck amid a mass of people.

This is like New Orleans Saints playing in Bay St Louis.

Or more identical to the Chiefs situation of MO/KS

What a joke. I guess if you’re an NFL team 30 miles from a state line - be careful.

i wonder if the brainiac mayor in chicago will fight them on continuing to use the city name. on one hand i detest the nfl and them holding the fans/cities hostage for stadium upgrades...but illionois and chicago are so corrupt, it's hard to feel side with anyone in this scenario.

If Chicago hates this, then they'll really hate the Nashville White Sox whenever that comes to fruition.

Chicago should sue the NFL now for using their name in a product that is no longer associated in their city.

Chicago must be a terrible city if they can't keep an NFL team.
