Getting a full remake and not just a remaster is awesome. Plus OG Kratos TC Carson is back.

quote:

Over two decades ago in March 2005, God of War came out on the PlayStation 2 – marking the beginning of Kratos’ incredible journey through ancient Greece and beyond. As we approach the final month of God of War’s 20th anniversary year in March 2026, we couldn’t let this milestone close without giving fans one last big surprise!

The original trilogy remade

We’re thrilled to confirm that the original God of War trilogy is being remade – and what better way to announce it than with the legendary TC Carson who brought Kratos to life in the Greek saga!

This project is still very early in development, so we ask for your patience as it will be a while before anything else can be shared. When we can come back with an update, we aim to make it a big one!

I have to disagree and I loved the others.

I genuinely think everything about the current state of GoW is the path forward.

My biggest complaint and it’s really minor….is having the boy in the party. I’d prefer just Kratos. Outside of that, the combat, world design, story, and look of the game is 10/10.

I need to get on the 2 new ones, they’ve been in my backlog forever. I started GOW (2018) a couple months ago but only made it a couple hours in. I was just coming off a 120 hour playthrough of EXP 33 and just wasn’t quite in the mood for another long arse game. Will get back to it eventually

Ragnarok was so bad that I’m glad they’re turning the bus around. Only Barlog can make a competent Dad of War game.

This is probably 5 years out though

Atreus adds a lot to the combat. The combat overall is way more in depth in the newer games. Story is better too.

That's fair. I will say that Ragnorok definitely helped a lot in the combat area because 2018 was lacking. Especially in variety, mainly boss variety. 2018 was basically Kratos: Troll Hunter.

Will it still be a hack n’ slash or will it be turned into a MOOVIE game?

They were all very good for their own reasons. But I'm excited to see how they adapt the original trilogy.
