California’s fuel market is entering another period of strain as refinery capacity continues to shrink in the nation’s largest gasoline market. The planned closure of Valero’s Benicia refinery, one of the state’s remaining major facilities, is expected to tighten supply in a system that already operates with little margin for disruption.

FOX Business’ Jeff Flock joined Maria Bartiromo on “Mornings with Maria” to report on how the pending refinery shutdown is fueling concerns about higher gas prices, job losses and increased volatility across California’s fuel market.

That tightening supply has already translated into higher prices and growing uncertainty for drivers, according to California lawmakers, who warn the situation is no longer theoretical.

“California is truly at a breaking point. Refineries are closing, supply is diminishing, and my constituents are paying more at the pump every single day,” Republican state Sen. Suzette Martinez Valladares said.

But she didn't vote Democrat. That's her point. She's a Republican representative.

Basically California is lost and every Republican should sell their home and get out while they can. There are nearly 6 million registered Republicans in Cal about a quarter of the electorate. If they moved their families to the surrounding states... take back Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado... they'd get their representation back and do the country a world of good. And they'd make a profit on the real estate trade from one extent to another. It's been the liberals doing the colonizing over the last 50 years. It's time for a Reconquista of our own in the Southwest.

With the refineries shutting down they will have to import more and more gasoline from foreign countries because they have no pipelines with the rest of the US. The US a net exporter and the largest consuming state is importing gas. That cap and trade nonsense is driving up prices as well.

Same with New York. They sit on the Marcellus Shelf yet wont frack and wont let new pipelines be built, instead will buy energy from Canada and blame Trump for the tariffs. Heck they outlaw nat gas in new buildings over three stories, and they are part of RGGI another of those cap and trade money scams where they bury the cost on your bill in "transfer costs".

Well, if they're voting a certain way out there, not buying an EV and then complaining about gas prices, I just don't know what else to tell them.

I simply don't know what to tell them.
