If tweet fails to load, click here. Dude you aren’t a member. If you can get a member to host yall have at it. Doesn’t even take into account the douche bag move his own son pulled while at The Masters

his son has a lifetime ban from augusta, so that probably trickles down to his kids too.

I wonder if Jack sees Gary other times during the year other than the Masters. I have to imagine he dreads Gary talking his ear off.

I don’t think the grandsons are banned. The can go with a member

I cannot stand that douchebag.

Augusta should ban Gary, has always been a self-serving insecure little man (in spite of his incredible accomplishments). Augusta would win in the court of golf knowledgeable fans.

I thought Masters winners had an honorary membership so to speak that they can play whenever they want if they’re in town?
Seems odd they’d deny Player

There's an honorary member which all past winners are, and a full paying members. Honorary members still have to have a regular member sponsor their rounds.
Tiger isn't even a full member. I think Jack and Arnold are.

Should be a wake-up call to Gary that members don't want to play with him. Although, I imagine at 90 it's difficult to change your ways.

frick Gary Player. POS from Day 1 and has been getting worse for 90 years.

You gotta figure they give Tiger full membership at some point.
Like most golf fans I love Augusta so I've read up a lot on the course and membership in the past.
The members are incredibly secretive/hush hush on cost. Most guess it's around 40k a year which is extremely cheap given the course and history. That's 1/3 of the cost of some far inferior courses.
It's crazy that you could be one of the richest people in the world, one of the most powerful people in the world, and an avid golfer and that will not get you a membership. The US president falls under all three of those categories and he's not a member. love the exclusivity of it and them not giving an F how rich you are.
Read a golf digest (or some similar magazine) article where they put a guy outside the entrance with a sign that said "Will pay $10,000 for one round of golf". No member even stopped to talk to him and an hour or so later a cop was escorting him off the premises

If you think about it they don’t need to charge members anything. Think how much they make annually off the masters….
Posted on 2/12/26 at 2:03 pm to lsupride87
Yea the price is probably just a formality. With only 250-300 members, that's probably not even enough to cover the crazy amount the spend on course maintenance.

Yeah, this was my takeaway. He's telling on himself that not a single member wants to host him and his grandkids.

The cost is split evenly amongst the membership. If they spend $6 million in a year, the annual amount is $6 million divided by however many active members there are.
ANGC gets a lot of stuff for free or severely discounted; Toro and Rain Bird (among others) send them their latest equipment to test.

Gary Player is openly conservative, freely speaks his mind, is damn near 90, and is still good at golf. I respect him overall. i'm not going to shite on a 90 year old unless they are eating children or something of that nature.

I admire the achievements of Player and I also admire how as an immigrant he understands, preaches, and appreciates how America is the greatest country in the world
Saying that though I also see how he is a narcissist and a chucklefrick at times
