The New Mexico GOP is a disaster and really suck. I actually believe they are paid off to be so bad. They pick horrible candidates to run for Governor and national offices.

TBH New Mexico is a far left communist state where the democratic machine is essentially the communist party…… it is as is we have Communist China as a small state ….the people of New Mexico are the problems they are far far left……they have to completely fail to get a change but the Oil & Gas industry props them up….

The four southeastern counties of Lea, Eddy, Chavez and Roosevelt, where oil & gas has been most active, is very conservative. But Santa Fe and LaCruses population areas are extremely left wing. Santa Fe makes Denver folk seem reasonable.
Seems like the Albuquerque/Bernalillo County region used to be somewhat of a “swing” region of voters in the past that could help Republicans win statewide, but that area has gone much more left the past 10 years or so.

Both of New Mexico's senators are Democrats and no Republican is going to win a state-wide election there in the foreseeable future.
Hell, Kamala got almost 52% of the vote there in 2024.
