Once a month this guy joins our group. He is a 4hcp.

He uses 4 inch tees and he hits all of his woods on the upswing. He hits a draw that moves about 10 yards. I can't tell how hard that is to do every time.

Then he wears his cap backwards always. I don't get it, his face gets sunburnt all the time.

Lastly, his old Cobra Trusty Rusty wedge is so worth down and has almost no grooves. But he stops the ball on a dime.

He never uses a tee on par 3's either.

I don’t think this is abnormal.

Got a guy in my club, very nice, a little awkward with people, about 45 yrs old, lives on the course, drives a bright pink cart, bushy hair, surfer shorts, plays in flip flops.
Rich as all get out, owns about 100 country gas stations.
It just takes all kinds I guess.

Had a buddy work at a golf shop. The 2 weirdest things he’s witnessed was a guy came in to get his ball retriever regripped. And another beginner inquired about left handed balls.

I use a tee every time.

I like a teed up ball.

Whatever people prefer is fine with me.

What % of pros use a tee on every par 3?
I am trying to think if I’ve seen a pro just place it on grass in tournament play. I’m sure it happens.

Plumb Bob even on 1 footers.
Another guy licks his right hand before every swing. Hate shaking his hand after round.

Some guys may put it on grass with a wedge due to spin concerns, but that’s about it. Other than that, it’s on a tee. You only get 18 chances to guarantee a perfect lie, better take advantage

A friend of mine bounces up and down when he is getting ready to swing. He doesn't waggle the club at all... just bounces 10 to 12 times before starting his swing. It is the same for all shots from driving to chipping. We want to video him and put a David Attenborough voice-over about the male of the species going through a ritual courting dance.

Hugo Le Goff

This dude says, "Allez Hugo, Allez" before every shot he hits.

When I was young, a pro told me to lift the shaft of the putter and look straight down. He was helping me get over the ball.

30 years later, I cannot pull the trigger without doing it. Even in short putts, I have to do it.

I get too static sometimes.

A little motion helps me.

I’ve seen a few very good looking cart girls who took the money some offered.

WTF… at the end of the next round have a little thing of spray hand sanitizer in your pocket and when he reaches out spray it and then shake.

I play with a guy that every club is right handed and then proceeds to putt left handed.

My daughter club twirls her clubs before every shot Keegan Bradley style. Not sure if that’s quirky.

A customer of mine I play with often never warms up.. just straight rawdogs the course every-time and claims that warming up he’ll waste all of his good shots. He also plays a full bag of hybrids down to PW.

Other than that I can’t think of anything else. Nothing to crazy I guess

I thought this was normal

I'll go to the range if I'm at a resort course or something. Gotta get the full experience there, but IDGAF at home.

There was one at Tour 18 when it opened for sure.

I heard of another at Augusta Pines years ago and the card table in the men's locker room.

There is a guy who plays with us from time to time who has all woods and hybrids, a pitching wedge, and a putter. He’s in his late 30’s, shoots between 75-80 almost every time. Doesn’t have one normal iron and goes out plays darn well. We asked him if he ever considered using a normal set and he said never.
It’s always amusing when someone plays with him for the first time and then the awe they have when they see how well he does.

Don't know about you, but here we can get some rough tee boxes when we don't get enough rain.

And ever since covid, people forgot what a sand bottle is used for...
