Yearly thread. Only 2 real superkrewes in my view
Both are great. I prefer Bacchus but understand the arguments for Endymion .

Endymion is knockoff Bacchus.

Bacchus started the OG super krewe in 1969. Endymion was a two bit gentilly neighborhood parade that moved to its current route in 1976 to try and copy Bacchus.

Bacchus floats are works of art while Endymion floats have lots of flashy lights but not much more. Endymion also has substandard themes.

HAIL BACCHUS

It was defined by Errol Laborde years ago but I think size and quality of floats quality of bands quality of throws etc

Well he considers Orpheus a superkrewe.

So what makes your definition leave out Orpheus?

Orpheus is lame. If you have to advertise your krewe on a billboard then it’s not legit.

Endymion has better bands and because of the Bacchus King Kong Floats people think it's cool to throw back stuff at the floats. So F bacchus.

Endymion is for guys from Lutcher, LA, who went to community college to play baseball but dropped out because the coach was "out to get them."

They have thin linebeards and sound like they're from Marrero.

It's disgusting.

Be honest - have y'all ever met an Endymion member who had a college degree from an SEC school, much less an elite institution? The answer is no. It's really no different than the truck parades, but they add a bunch of flashing lights on the floats and put it on a different route.

I know 2 that graduated from LSU (1 an engineer and the other a Lawyer).

Next question?

Endymion’s crowd is the worst in all of Mardi Gras to boot.

I live a few blocks from Canal street and will not even walk that far to see Endymion.

It’s will be very cramped over there. Not much room with the sidewalks on both sides. You also have to fight for area with the stands that are up.
