Have you even been to Puerto Rico? Like real Puerto Rico not just where you get off the cruise ship?

West Side Story was a warning. It wasn’t heeded.

there are significantly more people in the U.S. who claim Irish ancestry (around 30-35 million) than the total population of Ireland (about 7 million)

Meh, Puerto Rico is ruined by greed and corruption just like any other liberal/socialist run state.

The only way you can be proud of your shithole country is to come to America and scream incessantly about how awful America is.

Right. The Irish in America are constantly haranguing about their victimhood and how bad they have it here in America.

A couple of nuclear plants would solve much of their problems. I think the power plants in service now are diesel generators.

Not shocking. PR is a corrupt shithole. I've had attempted extortions by multiple govt officials there. The only ones who stay are the ones who run the island and the ones too poor to leave.

It'll take more than that. The grid is deeply flawed from a design perspective and throwing gen units at it won't fix the problem. Also there's a 0.0% chance any investors are pumping that much cash into PR given the credit worthiness of the population.

Not surprising.

Why?

Because economic opportunities are limited in Puerto Rico and Puerto Ricans do not need a visa to travel to, reside, or work in the USA since they are American citizens.

Is that why 47% of them are on welfare? Let's hope Trump addresses this as well.
