Predict LSU Baseball's SEC Record

Good morning folks!
I started this thread last year and haven't seen anyone else do it yet. It's also Opening Week so let's go for it! Predict LSU's SEC regular season record this year
My take:
@ Vandy: 1-2
Vandy always plays well in the regular season and while LSU is talented and I think will be a top 3 team when it's all said and done, there's a lot of pieces that need to fall in place. Jay takes his time finalizing his lineup and rotation for a reason
vs Oklahoma: 3-0
I think the Sooners take a step back and LSU bats warm up a bit here at home
vs Kentucky: 2-1
Kentucky isn't as strong as they previously were, but have a smart coach and are always scrappy so they steal a game
@ Tennessee: 1-2
I do think LSU will be better than Tenner buy the end of the year, but @Tenn when they have something to prove without Vitello will be tough, LSU gets the last laugh later in the year though
@ Ole Piss: 3-0
Pissed off Tigers lay waste to little brother after dropping the Tenner series
vs TAMU: 2-1
Wanted to say this would be a sweep, but in reality this league is hard to do that and I've already predicted 2 of them. Aggies have a few veterans that will find a way to win 1
@ Miss St: 1-2
This one is tough. State has a lot of talent, but everyone is new including the HC. This will come down to the rubber match, but I think LSU falls on Sunday, but uses it a lesson later in the season
vs SC: 3-0
Paul gets a reminder of why he retired from coaching in that stadium. They just don't have the talent to compete with LSU on the road
@ Georgia: 1-2
This will depend on how much Wes can develop his pitching staff. Hard one to predict, but we drop 2 on the road to a Bulldog team starting to get its footing. TD panics, but Jay stays focused.
vs Florida: 2-1
LSU rights the ship to end the regular season, by taking a series from a stronger Gator team
End Result: 19-11, Top 8 National Seed
2025 Standings for Reference
Texas 22-8
Arkansas 20-10
LSU 19-11
Vanderbilt 19-11
Georgia 18-12
Auburn 17-13
Ole Miss 16-14
Tennessee 16-14
Alabama 16-14
Flordia 15-15
Miss St 15-15
Oklahoma 14-16
Kentucky 13-17
TAMU 11-19
SC 6-24
Mizzou 3-27

Gonna be interesting with no Bitchello or Sully.
Who are we gonna hate on this season?

picking the exact outcomes of each series is more in depth than I'm willing to go but I don't hate the conference record prediction. I think we're somewhere between 16-19 conference wins. Hearing lots of 20+ win predictions and I just feel like that's an insane expectation considering neither of the 23 or 25 teams could break 20 conference wins.

30-0. Jay stackkked....SEC frickkked!

Reserved.
I'll make my pick after non-conference play.

Maybe if we had a Skenes type that you could roll out a 9-1 mark on the 1st game of every series, but this is absurd expectation.
1997 went 22-7 in SEC and that was prior to Texas, A&M, OU in the conference.
18-12 would be a damn good mark replacing Kade and Eyanson.

I thought I saw on here that Sully was back

Ah! Didn't see that. Last I saw he was taking some time away from coaching.

Sullivan is back after his 56 day leave of absence.

19-11 is a top 8 seed? I don’t think that’s accurate. MSU, Auburn, Texas, Georgia, and Arkansas look to be the teams to beat this year in the SEC. Those are your 20+ win conference teams. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Florida are your 15-19 win teams. Texas A&M, LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, and South Carolina are your 10-15 win teams. Biggest factors are proven starting pitching and returning production.

Winning 20 plus games out of 30 in SEC is not very common.
In 2025 2 teams did it, in 2024 2 teams did it, and in 2023 only 1 team won 20 or more .
2025 final SEC play standings

After the SEC bloodbath, yes 19-11 will get you a top 8 seed. Texas won 22 games last year on the weakest schedule in the SEC, you may never see that again
