Spent the #4 overall pick on a guard

I doubt the beer chugging will be looked at as fondly by the locals after that performance

Now here comes the lsu fans with the excuses.

A lot of LSU fans will disagree but I never thought much of Campbell. Go watch some of his LSU games. He's been this way for a while. He just wasn't going against NFL talent every game.

I like Campbell. I think he’s a good kid and he has the attitude and leadership you want in a locker room. I was always stuck between the idea that he was a fake tough guy or he wasn’t that great and the truth is physically is just in that great. With that being said, the dline he was playing yesterday dominated everyone. Hard to judge him based off that but man, he got rag dolled every snap.

100% agree with the takes here, but to "defend" him a tiny bit that first sack was on the guard knocking the defender off his block allowing a free run to the QB.

That's more to say that both of those guys are trash though. Super low IQ play to turn and see a guy completely blocked up and intentionally ram him off the block anyway.

Wondering how the Pats got as far as they did honestly because Maye and their left side of the Oline looked horrific. I know good coaching, good defense, and a good run game can get you far, but it's not like they had an elite defense. Must have been one of those Giants super lucky runs to the SB, only they fricked it up bad at the end.

I’ve never seen a team with the schedule they had while also playing a backup qb in the afccg. They’re a decent team but they were not that good this year and not a Super Bowl caliber team.

I have never seen a player so obvioulsy get picked on by an opposing defense. They constantly had an unblocked defender on Cambell's side. Maybe his tiny arms really were an issue.

I don’t think his arms are an issue. But he needs to get stronger. He was getting pushed back constantly. He has the foot speed to play left tackle.

He didn’t look this bad earlier in the year, but he has struggled towards the end of the year and especially this game. Banks looks heads and shoulders better than him.

One of the easiest regular season schedules in decades.

Playing a chargers team with a qb who isn’t exactly clutch behind a non existent online.

Playing a Texans team in the snow with a qb who can go completely terrible at times.

Playing a broncos team without their qb and being up by only a couple of points before conditions became impossible to score points.

This is where I am too. I only watched them in the playoffs and I think they just had it easy with Houston and then the weather game.

Small sample size but Maye wasn’t impressive at all for everyone around the league to be slobbering all over him

you can bet had Patriots passed on him and he fell to Saints, the Saints would have picked him

You don't know that at all. Did you see the Saints draft board? Talk to someone in the front office? Or just assuming this bc he went to your favorite college?

That guard at the #4 pick just played in the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl the season after having the #4 pick

What does that have to do with his shitty performance and guard measurables?

I’ll defend him a tiny bit too. He had the MCL sprain in November and really never looked the same. I’m not saying he was all-pro before, but he was better before the injury.

Will Campbell looked suspect ever since he talked about wanting to get into a fight and then got pushed around by a sloppy USC team. Dude has Trevor Penning vibes all over him.

It's not excuses, it's just facts. He was being mentioned for rookie of the year before his MCL sprain in November. Obviously he was playing decisively better
