I don’t understand why he’s not recognized more often. he was a big part of the 2019 defense (first team all-SEC) and has been a really solid NFL player for the last two seasons, with his stock on the rise.

happy to see him ball out tonight even though his team lost.

Mainly because he didn't have great counting stats at LSU. He was billed as an elite pass rusher who really made more of a difference in the run game than the passing game. He was always more of a projection guy rather than a production guy when he left LSU (part of that was because he missed his sophomore year). I honestly think if he would have played his sophomore year, he would have had MUCH better sack numbers his junior year. He bulked up a ton and lost a little speed after the ACL.

I mean, he was (correctly) considered a bust up until this year. Didn't sign a second contract in JAX, washed out in one year in LV. He had 10 sacks and 1 FF in the 5 seasons prior to this year. He had 9 sacks and 2 FF this year alone.

I'm super pumped for him, but he was relatively easy to forget about in the grand scheme of things.

Your username tells me you most likely have a low I.Q.

Also, what makes you think he’s underappreciated? You expect people to still be talking a lot about a defensive end 6 years later?

I always considered him a bit overrated and unworthy of the hype. Definitely not deserving of wearing #18.

... until the game against Oklahoma. Then he became one of my favorite players of all time. Mad respect.

I'd say he's correctly appreciated

A Coach who built and coached the best team in the history of the NCAA deserves no respect for LSU Fans?
I would think, after watching Woody's teams the last few years, there would be some awareness of the situation. Kelly, Mac, enjoy!

I suppose there is some validity to the educational level.

I think he was adequately appreciated when he played for LSU. He would not be the DL through LSU that was solid and then got better in the pros.

Injuries slowed him production wise but when healthy he was very good.

I loved watching Chaisson play down the stretch at LSU.

Isn't he the guy who never played football until soph or Jr year of HS and got an LSU scholarship because he tagged along with a HS recruit to an LSU camp?

Aranda having the guy drop in coverage 70% of the time at one point in 2019 was just dumb AF. You saw a big change in the D when O got on Dave A$$ and he started turning the guy loose.
