Watch the 20 seconds prior as well. Wisconsin with the ball up 1, shot clock turned off, and Indiana harrases the ball handlers for 15 seconds until a Wisconsin player pushes off and the ref got to pump up the crown by making the offensive player foul call.

I swear refs get off on making the crowd cheer for their offensive foul calls.

Wow
Badger announcers on the radio gave to indication it was a controversial call.
Now that I can watch that replay the loss feels even worse.

Poor call. Could be a bubble buster potentially

it’s why basketball isn’t a serious sport

the players are too big and fast and officials are slow, out of position, and completely control the game, especially at the collegiate level. there is no point watching games and being a fan unless you purposely enjoy feeling angry and frustrated often

Basketball players, especially in the NBA decided a long time ago, its just not worth the effort to play defense when the refs always eventually just bail the offensive player out.

I hear this a lot and somewhat agree, but what’s the solution?

You can watch crap calls like that any night in Swla .Basketball refs are so bad now days. The solution is to get rid of who is in charge at every level and start over. Also refs need more training former coaches need to be in charge of them and teach them the correct rules and how to become unnoticed.

The new challenge rules show just how absurd basketball officiating is right now. I’d say about 80% of them get overturned and if they video replayed every questionable call, the game would take 6 hours. Refs are just guessing.

Just, why on earth would you reward the offensive player in that situation?

Officiating is terrible in college.

Pros don't matter because you can take 10 steps and they don't call a walk.

The defender stepped on the ball handler. You can only see it from the low angle. It was a good call.

I was watching a game yesterday with the video replay for an out of bounds ball by the defender. The defender clearly grabbed the offensive players hands causing him to lose the ball out of bounds. So they reversed the call to give the defender the ball as it was last touched by the offensive player even though he was clearly fouled… just doesn’t make sense.
