Does anyone have any info on the fall of Jordan Spieth?

Only 2 tour wins in the last 8 seasons, 0 wins since 2021-22. Didn't truly threaten a win at all last year. He's below the cut line (again) this week at the WMPO, a course where he's played really well in the past.
He's been passed up by many younger players. From a casual observer, he seems almost incapable of those -7 to -9 rounds that most other competitive tour golfers seem to get often. Quite an enigma.

He has probably played better than people have given him credit - he was in the 20's in Datagolf for almost all of last year. He is actually probably a better driver now than he was when he was at his peak. He didn't fall completely off the face of the earth.
Two things, I think, with him:
1. The rate at which he was making the 10 - 20+ footers, especially in critical situations, when he was at his peak was unsustainable - that was a generational run he was on and that probabilistically was just never going to last
2. The game more or less passed him. He probably isn't that different of a player compared to 10 years ago, but the mix of people against whom he is competing is better. Longer, better iron players, more complete, etc. The bar was raised, and he wasn't able to quite compete like he once could. Look at the list of players in the top 15 of the OWGR in 2016:
1. Jason Day, Australia, 10.9145
2. Rory McIlroy, Northern Ireland, 9.8336
3. Dustin Johnson, United States, 9.5330
4. Henrik Stenson, Sweden, 8.6940
5. Jordan Spieth, United States, 8.0436
6. Hideki Matsuyama, Japan, 7.4883
7. Adam Scott, Australia, 6.5476
8. Patrick Reed, United States, 5.3972
9. Alex Noren, Sweden, 5.3525
10. Bubba Watson, United States, 5.1949
11. Danny Willett, England, 5.0889
12. Rickie Fowler, United States, 4.9676
13. Sergio Garcia, Spain, 4.7346
14. Paul Casey, England, 4.6999
15. Justin Rose, England, 4.4397
Of that set (putting Jordan beside), only Rory, Hideki, Adam Scott, Reed, and Rose are still playing world class golf week in and week out, and only Rory and Hideki have been quite clearly better than Jordan the last few years.

Hasn’t he had some wrist surgeries and such?

He also was never that good of a ball striker. He just putted and chipped his mind off for three years. Over time that just isn’t sustainable and he got reeled in by guys who are better and more consistent ball strikers

He's changed his swing dramatically. Going with the bowed wrist crap, it's not only ruined his game, it's ruined his wrist as well.

He got married and had kids

1 thing, he changed his swing a few years back. Started that goofy pre-shot routine. It was working, leave it alone.

It seems like coaches over coach sometimes.
A golfer’s swing has to be his swing. There are many ways to move a club. The good ones look exactly alike at impact, but how they get there varies some from player to player.
Maybe with all the changes Speith is thinking too much over the shots.

I feel like there has been some chatter from multiple golf analysts saying that he needs to fire his swing coach. He continues to stick with the same guy.
Spieth’s set up and routine screams of someone who has no clue where the ball it is going. His lack of confidence is tough to watch.

He had kids and made 100 million bucks.

He ruined his swing chasing distance.

Got married.
Had kids.
Had kids.

Why do people keep talking about marriage and kids?
The dude is worth 100M+.
We really think he doesn’t buy his wife help
And have the ability to practice 40+ hours/week like any normal working male or single tour professional?
Scottie has kids, Rahm has kids, Rose has kids, Rory has kids, Tiger had kids.
He’s a terrible driver and iron player by tour standards. Short game has kept him around but when he’s not making miracles, Fridays like this week are common.
He just doesn’t have “it” any more. He’s incredibly average compared to the top 20 guys right now and they just keep rolling in.

I would assume major wins are held by people married with kids in an insane majority vs single without kids.

This. He was never particularly long or accurate, and is a total head case. Pay attention when he’s in a feature group and microphones are catching conversations between him and his caddy.
The guy sounds like my wife in a drive through. Doesn’t know what she wants until we’re at the microphone, will change her mind as I’m talking, and then blame it on me if they mess her order up.

This is it in my opinion. He tried to change his swing to chase 15 yards. Ruined his confidence.
