Not good enough.. Trump and Scott Bessent are a fricking joke. Total failures by not hitting 51,000 today. All they care about are ending stupid wars and making our cities safer

In reality, what does the stock market performing well mean to everyday people?

You know that the Dow Jones is not the stock market right?

Moved every last penny of my long terms overseas and it’s nearly doubled the performance of the US markets since Trump took office. I’d advise everyone with a 401k to do the same unless you hate money.

It's all green across the board today. Cry another day.

It means a blue collar worker with a trade school degree can retire at a relatively young age and not work until they die. Capitalism is the way.

Any current or future retiree, or anyone with investments is estatic. A well-performing stock market could be years off your retirement age.
So it doesn’t meaningfully affect the overall economy, which matters more to everyday people who aren’t retired or close to retirement than fluctuations in the stock market.

What exactly is your definition of the "economy"? Mine is the positive flow of money. Higher gains in the stock market keeps money flowing. More innovation, more more collateral for loans, more valuable stock options for employees...it provides a financial backstop for a lot of Americans.
Now does it affect Joe blow gas station attendant with no retirement? Not much.

That we can retire and not work until we die. Pretty simple.

Found the 28 year old minimum wage earning barista. Maybe one day you'll have a job with a 401k.

I've yet to grasp the investment in crypto beyond a bit of speculation and portfolio diversification.
I sold my crypto ETF a few days ago with a modest gain over the past 3 years, not sure I would buy in again until I can fully grasp the long term viability of crypto as a means of purchasing goods and services. It's always seemed sketchy to me.
