Thomas has averaged 15.6 points, 3.1 assists and 1.9 rebounds on 39.9% shooting from the field. His role has also decreased under Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez. He started only eight games and averaged 24.3 minutes per game for the Nets this season.
Last season, Thomas was limited to 25 games after nursing a hamstring injury. Thomas' best season came in his third year, when he averaged 22.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game.

But Brooklyn's defensive stats with Thomas this season were staggering. The Nets had a 122.7 defensive rating with him on the court, which ranks last in the league. Brooklyn had a 115.4 rating with Thomas on the bench, a significantly improved number that's closer to league average.

Under current rules he may be eligible. Got three years of eligibility left.
Dedan and Cam best backcourt in the country.

Dude has a 47 point game and 10 40+ games in his career and getting released is wild.

Maybe get Ja Morant too.

I can’t imagine he’ll be a free agent for long.

cam Thomas is terrible. high volume scorer, does basically nothing else for the team. horrible D, no assists, no boards, no steals or really any other value.

I'll take him. Can he come back to play at LSU since there are no rules?
Posted on 2/5/26 at 8:33 pm to jamarr
Yap he’s a loser. Every coach that had him has hated him

I have long said Thomas is awful and been mocked for it. some of you clowns even mocked me for saying tari Eason is a far better player. he is. far far better.
"“Eason is a way better player than cam thomas.” - me
Lol he’s averaging 2 more minutes per game and is still less productive. Thanks for clarifying you don’t know anything about basketball" - local angry poster "madking"
I think I have been proven right, Eason is playing awesome, cam Thomas is cut.
I think I made fairly strong points about this years ago in this thread

and was downvoted hard, but every single word I said was correct. cam Thomas is a selfish one-dimensional player. he makes his team worse.

yes I recall you agreed with me about him not being a good player. his advanced metrics are a disaster.
I would often look at his stat lines and they would correlate with huge losses. he would play more minutes, score more points and lose even bigger the more he played and scored for his team.
he seemed to give up 15 for every 10 he scored.

The only question that needs to be asked is if he has any eligibility left. Gotta get to him before bama does.

You are trying to be facetous but he plays a losing brand of basketball. He only attempted to play defense for two weeks in his LSU season (SECT and NCAAT). Look at the stats listed in the OP. The Nets were the worst defesnive team in the NBA when he was on the floor. All he cared about was shooting and scoring. You can't win like that, and he never has.

I don't think he is. cam Thomas really is terrible and a few of us have always said it

You don’t like him because he didn’t play for McPoopy

he played for wade who is my favorite coach of all time in any sport.
yunno how many minutes of the will wade show at TJ ribs I missed during his career here? zero. I drove to mcneese games to watch him. I quote him all the time in my daily life. I predicted exactly where he would end up before anyone LINK

The NBA plays defense? That's the suckiest sport in the world. It's ruined from the days they played real defense and team basketball. Check out the Larry Bird, Dr J, Magic Johnson, years and earlier. An NBA coach doesn't have to coach or strategize. Just put 5 on the floor and let them run and shoot. Lmao

He wasn’t selfish, defense picked up at times but shot like he was Chris jackson.

He is so poor on defense, he gives most of those points back.

What kind of shape are Stromile Swift and Tyrus Thomas in? Let's bring back all the underclassmen who left.
I can't believe the insanity of what's going on in college basketball.
