Yikes!

He added a tweet that says it's a 2 year extension with a 3rd year triggered if they get 6 wins in 2026.

He took a $200,000 per year pay cut. His buyout dropped by almost half a million.

We won 8 games this year, we couldn’t fire him.

Our AD was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

How long did he have left on his contract?

The 8 games is nice, but he has a losing record for y'all. Doesn't seem like there was any rock and a hard place to be stuck between.

Tech is punting on competing and I don’t blame them. I don’t know how G5 schools are going to justify putting much emphasis on football.

A 12 year old with ChatGPT could have won 9 games with that soft arse schedule.

Horrible decision that we will regret.

I mean who else would they want? No one is clamoring for the position, and they have a little momentum going for them.

THIS

Plus every time TECH gets a decent coach he leaves for greener pastures as soon as they win a little.

It’s the best thing tech could have hoped for. Lowers his salary, lowered buyout for 2026. If doesn’t get 6 wins, tech can afford the buyout.

It was a tough situation as an AD with a head coach who sucks and you didn’t hire but can’t really get rid of after a fluke of a season.

When has a head coach reduced his base salary? That’s a home run for tech.

Whats the goal there?

Even if you win 10 games and win another indy bowl is there much of a difference to this season?

sounds as if someone has been reading Joel Chandler Harris and has their own version of Brer Rabbit, "Please don't throw me in that briar patch, No, anywhere but the briar patch."

Meh. Football is a zero sum game. Not every team can have a winning record.

Every alumnus would like his school to win.
But they have to be honest with themselves about where their school falls along the spectrum.

Power 4 have the money to try to win and can buy wins from group of 5.
Tech can not.
Does that mean they shouldn’t want to win? No.
But 8 wins and a bowl is good for them.

Cut every dollar you can from football and get baseball to 34 full scholarships.

Tech, and 40+ schools like Tech, need to either drop down to FCS or form a new division. NIL and the transfer portal have created a gulf between the top of the Power 4 and everybody else.

I would much rather the Cajuns to end the season in a playoff system played on campus rather than playing in Mobile in front of 500 people. I’m sure 90% of those following G5 teams would agree.
