I know how Billie Eilish can avoid having to return her stolen-land-house to the Tongvas

REPARATIONS!

She doesn't even need to return the house. She just has to pay reparations. Millions of her dollars should be given in reparations to the Tongva tribe. If she forks over enough of her hard earned cash, that should make amends

Honestly the Tongvas can just start moving onto her property, climb the fence if they have too. She's already established that it's not illegal to occupy stolen lands.

It’s sad that these idiots still think their opinion matters to us regular folks.

How can it be stolen without ownership and a, dare I say it, clearly defined border

OP coulda at least posted what the tribe said rather than some twitter account. Seems they just wanna be acknowledged that the land was theirs.

quote:

"The Tongva tribe, the Indigenous inhabitants of the Los Angeles Basin known as the “First Angelenos,” had a message of their own for Eilish — whose multimillion-dollar mansion sits on their “ancestral land.”

The tribe revealed that the “Birds of a Feather” singer should “explicitly” reference them when speaking about “stolen land.”

“Eilish has not contacted our tribe directly regarding her property. We do value the instance when public figures provide visibility to the true history of this country,” a Tongva spokesperson told the Daily Mail.

“It is our hope that in future discussions, the tribe can explicitly be referenced to ensure the public understands that the greater Los Angeles Basin remains Gabrieleno Tongva territory,” the spokesperson added.
