Going to Banff in June-- any tips, recommendations?

Wife has been putting it together. June 3- 11th. Flying in and out of Calgary; we will of course have a rental car. Looks like it's about an hour/ hour and a half drive west of Calgary. We will be staying in the Fairmont Banff Springs. Imagine we'll do some hiking, and the Fairmont has a nice golf course-- maybe I'll rent some clubs and play a round.
Anyone else ever been? Suggestions, tips recommendations?

Stayed there last August and played golf. Play a round it's worth it. I wish I could remember the places we ate but honestly can't think of them. The canned Vodka Coffee drink in Banff is fantastic though. Also take advantage of the Fairmont's shuttle.

We did the same exact trip a few years back. Having a rental car is nice as you can set out on the road and explore the differentls lakes, the other fairmont property, icefield parkway etc.
We would just walk into town from the Fairmont. It's a walkable town center with different bars, restaurants and shops.
There's a lot of threads on Banff that should be helpful if you look back

You’re a little early (June). Some places could be closed. I went 2 years ago. Was a great trip.

Its a beautiful place to go. Go see Lake Louise (views are breathtaking), Lake Minnewanka. Walk the downtown of Banff. My favorite places to eat, The Grizzly House and Bluebird Steakhouse. Make sure you stop and purchase the National Park Permit pass driving in to Banff. If you miss it, they have a visitor center in town to purchase. Have fun.

Love the Fairmont Banff Springs, we just wrapped up a pre-Christmas trip staying there.
The hike from Lake Louise up to the tea house should be open, even if you’re going in early June. That’s worth your time and there’s a Fairmont on Lake Louise as well that you could pop into. We also did a whitewater rafting trip while up there for a different excursion, and with your rental you could get to Lake Moraine as well.
Plenty of good dinner spots in town, but if dining on property look into reservations ahead of time for 1888 Steakhouse and Castello (Italian). Those can sometime fill up if you try to reserve a couple nights out.
Rent the clubs and play the hotel course…the Waldhaus patio offers a great view of the 15th from above the tee box in case you want to check things out before booking a tee time

We did Banff for thanksgiving 2018. I would think Lake Louise would be beautiful in summer. It was frozen solid in November. Try Johnston canyon as well.
