As it is, the squid didn't even help the second, "famous" raising, although he was there for the first (real) flag raising that gets little to no press.

AFAAK, it was only marines in the famous raising.

And before we just poo poo the idea of the U.S. Army (the most significant, accomplished and successful military force in all of human history) being on Iwo, obviously, the 147th Regiment served with distinction there.

(For the record - the USMC makes headlines - the U.S. Army makes history.)

At least 56 says that he served.

As such, I welcome his comments.

Vietnam ended just before I graduated high school in 75 or I most likely would have been drafted, I wasn’t unhappy about that. I went to college, got a job and retired in 2021.

I didn’t need to enlist in the military at that time due to there were no wars and I was gainfully employed. Soldiers weren’t treated like they are today back then and I guess it’s the guilt that makes one who has served placed above all other productive American citizens.

I appreciate all who join the military, I come from a military family, but my service wasn’t needed or they would have let me know and I would have complied. That’s all I got to say about that.

They’d have all been dead way before the end of an actual battle dressed like that

Derrick seems to be on the good side but that was a shoddy post for obvious reasons pointed out already.

In addition: 1) why are they raising the Somali flag?, and 2) the only thing these fricktards could raise would be the little tableside Mexican flag at a Pancho's Mexican buffet.

Derrick needs to stop posting until he gets his shat straight.

Minnesota's new flag looks a lot like the Somali flag
