The way Kelly handled the Nuss situation this year was bizarre and honestly negligent.. I believe Nuss has a case against Kelly for damaging his reputation.

Thank God he is gone.

Kelly wasn't missing wide open wrs, refusing to pick up 1st down with his legs, having atrocious footwork, and refusing to step up in the pocket. Nuss wasn't a good qb his entire career here. He was decent outside of sec play in 2024. In sec play he has been a bad qb at lsu. I'm sorry facts prove that. He admitted to not being a study guy. That's not gonna bode well if you're the least athletic guy on the field.

Nussmeier didn’t play well this season. Injury, lack of prep, Mercury in retrograde, whatever the F the reason was, he didn’t play well.

Brian Kelly was $hit as a head coach at LSU.
I don’t think Nussmeier’s performance was Kelly’s fault, but Kelly certainly didn’t help him by trotting Joe Sloan’s pathetic arse out there.

I will always root for Garrett. I will be happy if I never see Brian Kelly’s face or hear his voice again. Same for Sloan.
They are in Matt House territory for me.

Take this BS somewhere else. Nuss was paid to do a job and he sucked arse all year. Terrible pocket presence, bad decisions, poor leadership and more.

I’m pulling for the guy and hope he has success but I’m glad he is gone. A meaningless senior bowl means nothing to the LSU fanbase.

These guys are paid well now to produce. It’s how the game is played now.

No

The entire premise of this thread is idiotic.

When Did Nuss blame a coach?

I see a message board idiot making a stupid thread about suing a coach, but I don’t see a player on here blaming a coach

Depends on when Nuss was injured and if it was due to poor offensive line play

It was Kelly’s responsibility to field an SEC worthy oline and he failed miserably

Yall Nuss didn't bust his arse this off-season, admitted as much, his body wasn't ready for fall practice and lingering injuries unfortunately were the result.

No BK has a case against Nuss for getting him fired.

Fun idea, but that’s not how defamation works in Louisiana. You don’t sue because a coach made bad football decisions or benched you in a weird way. You need a false statement of fact, published to a third party, that actually harms reputation—and for a public figure, you’ve got to show actual malice, not just incompetence or ego. “Brian Kelly mismanaged Nuss” may be true and likely is true, but it’s not defamatory. It’s just bad coaching. Not to mention that Nuss was hurt.

That said…glad Kelly is gone. Football malpractice isn’t actionable in court, but it is fireable in Baton Rouge.

No idea of the legalities but I thought programs had to report injury status and it sounds like BK wasn't doing that forthrightly.

Nuss's Dad is an NFL Coach and I'm sure had more to say in the matter than Kelly. If Nuss and he did not want Nuss to play - he would not have.

Nuss wanted to play and I think it was ultimately his decision. There's enough to put at Kelly's feet - I don't think this is one of them.
