Maybe he shouldn’t be in there if he keeps escaping

Sucks.

Why does it feel like Lou Holtz has been 89 since 1989?

Lou Holtz has been old since before I was born in the 90s.

But damn, I’m gonna miss that Schon of a Bisch when he’s gone

One of the last relics of a bygone era of college football.

By any measure, that's a long life and one he did a lot with the opportunities he had been given.

None of us live forever and few will likely be remembered as much as he will after he eventually passes.

I think Alberts was gone long before Holtz joined the crew.

He is actually kind of unsung with what he did at SCar. People forget how dreadful the Cocks were before he brought them out of the depths.

Didn't Lou actually replace Trev Alberts? I remember Trev giving Mark May shite but not in a fun way like Lou he was a massive a-hole and you could tell Mark was pissed

I love his philosophy on life.

Something to do (purpose or work, regardless of age)
Someone to love
Something to believe in (often faith or higher purpose)
Something to hope for

Some of the wisest knowledge ever dropped

I truly hope his end is as peaceful as possible...but all this fawning over him as some great human is a little over the top.

When the camera was on, he was one person. Day to day working with him was another. He was known to be a colossal prick to anyone he deemed an underling...which was most staff he dealt with day to day. I know personally how people within the athletic department at Arkansas absolutely hated him.

And, don't forget this prime example of what a prick he could be... berating a young female intern because he thought he was too important to stand and wait for an interview for 90 seconds.

Just watch that camera grin completely turn to a scowl and him storming off when the camera interview turns off.

May his end be peaceful, more peaceful than how he treated day to day people he worked with.
