It's sadly very true, government funded means government rationed healthcare.

Private healthcare means private rationed healthcare at 3 times the cost.

You realize they have private insurance and private hospitals in the UK as well. Its the same thing as the difference between social security and an IRA. No law against paying for better healthcare.

It's just a funny skit done by Brits that touches on a bit of reality in their lives which is why it is here and not on the political board...

Problem is you paid for it in tax dollars already.

Is that an argument against an IRA or Social Security?

30 minutes have passed since this post, so it's likely 4 times the cost.

If people would just stop buying Starbucks.

You are retarded.

I had two major heart surgeries since 2021. I had state-of-the-art procedures and care for a condition I would have been put on a waiting list to die in the UK (I have dual citizenship with the UK too). For the few thousand dollars it cost me (total covered by my insurance was over $900,000) I considered it a worthwhile expense. There was a British man getting heart surgery at the same hospital in Plano as I was, guess it was worth the cost vs. waiting on the NHS which is a common theme amongst a lot of wealthy Brits. My grandfather died waiting for a treatable lung condition too. So eat shite with your ignorant, poorly educated opinion...

You can buy private health insurance in the UK or Europe though like, I would assume, the British man you mention had.

I bet you bought hook line and sinker the claim that people were dying in the ER all the time too before Obamacare.

Me, and everyone in my family, has gotten every surgery, procedure and medication we have ever wanted or needed through private insurance. Never been denied once and never seen even a hint of rationing.

Your post is moronic.

He still chose to come to the US. My dad had the option to go to the UK since he is still a full UK citizen but never considered it for his heart surgery and cancer treatment. Waiting list for a conventional open heart procedure or a much less invasive robotically-assisted port proceduce with greatly reduced recovery time, certainly glad I had the option for the latter.

People who are for Universal healthcare have never used universal healthcare, an/or for something life threatening.

Then you know the Tories underfunded the NHS for 14 years. The rest of the world has much better healthcare than the US until you become Medicare eligible. That's government healthcare and while it has its issues, most people get good, affordable care. Meanwhile many people in the US are denied coverage for basic care by their private for profit insurance. You may have had a good experience but most people don't.

No, they most certainly don't. Well, that is unless you're willing to pay for private healthcare.

Odd how that works.

This is patently false, and you know it.

My first GF in NYC was Canadian. That was when the medical system was first socialized. Everything worked well after nationalizing a fully stocked state of the art industry, but after a few years they didn't even try to keep up and the bean counters kept slimming it down and using rationing to keep costs down. Canadians who really need serious healthcare for serious medical conditions now quip, "My dogs and cats get better care."
