Including Kiffin's contract, coaching staff, portal cost etc, can we get a dollar total these 60 days have cost LSU?

Including the full value of his contract, I gotta think they're nearing 130m if not more. Not my money, though. Should be a helluva team next season

95m for Kiffin
Gotta think 20+ for the portal/retaining players
Few million for the staff

Dont forget whatever it was we owed him for Ole Miss' advancement through the playoffs. (if that was actually part of the contract, granted its not much in the grand scheme of it all)

You are probably going to need to multiply that number by 2

Yep - you're right. Probably closer to 150 total

I forgot that we're probably at ~5m for Leavitt alone. I would love to see the actual total for the portal

Why would you put that amount for the first 60 days? It's not like LSU paid him all upfront.

That's fair. They're not paying the portal guys all at once - I guess I was just thinking how much they committed to in the first 60 days. My bad

I wouldn't have a guess on the first 60 days along and what they've already spent

You’d also have to account for all the NIL dollars taken back by 30+ players leaving for the portal. There is no telling what BK and Thomas were paying that Oline. Then account for Kyle Parker, Mathis and etc. The oline was really a money pit for us and we upgraded that.

Once you get your dollar total, subtract the total value creation of improving LSU's national brand and visibility, which affects everything from future ticket sales, merchandise sales, TV contracts, leverage in all negotiations with all stakeholders, etc. Feel free to start with the recent WSJ estimate of the football programs current net worth of approximately 1.2 billion dollars.

Then add multiples to the value creation number which represent the increased possibility of: 1) each possible national championship in the next 5 years 2) playoff appearances 3) SEC championships

After doing your calculation, you might find that you are looking at a negative number

Putting it in simpler terms, investing $ in winning future football games actually makes you money, you're not losing money by doing this. (even factoring in the time value of money and the significant chances of coach Kiffin banging a few coeds)

Most misused word on TD. "You disagree with me so, muh, you're melting!"

Why don't you explain why you are shitting on these great turn of events for LSU because of $$$ that will never come out of your pocket?

how about you simply answer the question asked instead of going drama mode and already counting unearned championships and appearances and crap.

Pretty sure he’s implying that I think differently when a simple question was asked about expenditures as it relates to kiffin’s success.
