Pretty neat if you like soccer/futbol/international football:

Always good when RM gets dropped.

For those confused why this goal matters when they were already winning; they needed to improve their goal differential from their 8 games in the Champions League to win a tiebreaker to stay in the competition.

True. A unique situation really. Otherwise up by a goal why bring the goalie in on direct offense?

I watched the match. It was awesome.

Two red cards for Real Madrid in injury time so you had the bodies in the box. Real Madrid just can’t mark all of them.

And I will add that Real Madrid needed a win to stay in the top eight and bypass the February knockout stage, so both teams had something to play for.

Spurs through in the Top 8, Real Madrid not.

Just as we all figured would be the case.

I would suggest its rare for the goalie to actually score but not to move the goalie up, kinda like pulling the goalie in hockey it happens in desperation at times.

This will always be the best. The consequences of this goal are insane. It saved Carlisle United from ceasing to exist and simultaneously ended Scarborough FC.

i watched that live and my jaw dropped

announcers kept repeating that Benfica needed another goal to go thru the next round, otherwise they would have been eliminated and they weren’t sure if their players and fans knew that.

Madrid players really were dumbassess the last few minutes going two man down right before that goal

Watched it live as well. Awesome ending.
One of the dumbasses got his second yellow for arguing like an idiot while he already knew they were a man down. It was like he wanted to get kicked out.
