NFL only puts in 5 guys a year max, and a lot of guys are ahead of him in line.

The main strike against Manning’s candidacy is that he reportedly was never viewed as a top quarterback in a golden era at the position.
This is of course irrefutable truth and should end all discussion permanently. You can make a strong argument that he only had 1 season (2011) as a Top 5 QB. It’s pathetic he’s even being considered if we’re being real

Unfortunately many of the same voters that said no will just magically become retarded and/or forgetful in 5-15 years and he’ll get in

If you don’t get in when your candidacy is new and fresh you stand a chance of never getting in… he’s not gonna throw another yard or TD

Baseball HoF candidates don’t pitch or hit anymore either

Yet Andruw Jones went from 7.3% to 78.4% and in within 9 votes

Football voters are a different set of retards, but they’re cut from the same retarded fabric

He'll get in eventually because he's well liked, did it in New York, and has the right last name. Brees goes in this year, Big Ben is eligible next year, then Brady. After them there's not another surefire lock qb on the horizon until Rodgers so there's a gap where Eli will just fall in

He’s not a Hall of Famer.

I’m surprised to be honest, given the New York Giant bias. I guess it wouldn’t even be a discussion if he didn’t play there.

Wrong...time heals all objections by voters. Same as it ever was.

He’s got a couple of great Super Bowl runs. But as an individual QB, he’s never elite at his position. If you look at other HoFers, you can say they were top 3 at their positions at certain point of their careers.

Is the hall of fame, not the hall of very good.

Cliff Branch didn’t get in until after he passed away. Otis Taylor and Lester Hayes still aren’t in. You could argue they all had multiple seasons where they were Top 3 in the league at their position, and they all have SB rings too.

Jim Plunkett has two SB rings and a SB MVP. He’s still not in.

The one thing E Manning has going for him, and it should be considered when talking about the Hall of FAME, is he was the QB for that huge upset over undefeated NE with Tom Brady in the Super Bowl. But beyond that, he doesn’t have anything else on his resume that says “Hall of Fame”.

Two SuperBowls...
In New York...
With the last name Manning...
While being generally well liked and involved in the media...
That will eventually get him in. I don't think it should, but that's the way the voters will go.

He was never anywhere near as good as Brady, Brees, Rodgers or his brother and his best individual seasons were never as good as the best seasons by Rivers, Stafford, Ryan, Wilson, Roethlisberger or even Luck or Newton (who both had short windows of being healthy). Historically he's far closer to guys like Flacco and Romo than he was to the elite top 4. He was good, but never even close to great. When you can rattle off 8+ players who were his direct contemporaries that were probably better than him then it's hard to argue that he's worthy of the Hall.

I get the argument against him but based upon who has already gotten in, yeah he is a hall of famer.

Joe Namath is in, so Eli gets in.
