I could make a case for almost every non-starter on the team as being a sleeper. You don't play for LSU without having immense talent. That being said, I'm just going to mention a few players.

Pitching:
Paz- As a freshman, this guy might have the best physique of all the pitchers. He is mature beyond his years. He could possibly have the biggest arm on the team and might be the most talented pitcher on the roster. He didn't pitch last year because of having TJ surgery and it sometimes takes a while to get the command back. My guess right now is he is going to have a similar impact for us as Casan Evans did last year. We don't know for sure what this year will bring but he could be a high impact pitcher for us.

Noot- Noot progressed a lot during the 2025 season. In the fall of 2024 he wasn't quite there yet, by the end of 2025 he was much improved. He could have went in the draft last year but returned in hopes of breaking into the starting rotation. I'm not a pitching guru but his form seems repeatable. There is plenty of competition but I think he has a real chance at Sunday starter.

Fontenot- He is a fifth year senior who hasn't done a lot yet so it is easy to sleep on him. That being said, he has good size, upper 90's arm and was really good this fall. He will pitch at the back end of innings, where you already have Sheerin and Guidry. So he has competition, and that will probably limit his impact in 2026 but I believe you could see him in some very critical situations.

Catching:
Yamin- Arrambide looks like a star in the making. Serna is a mack truck with really good skills. So it easy to overlook Yamin, but he is good defensively and has hit well in the fall and so far in the spring. As of now, I believe Yamin would be the pitcher backing up Arrambide. Serna is going to play as a freshman because he is too good, has immense power and needs the developmental experience. I'm just not sold yet that Serna is the number 2 catcher on this team as we speak. That will probably change at some point but we don't know when. I don't know how things will work out but Yamin has a chance to play a bigger role that most are anticipating.

Infield:

Dardar- Listening to some interviews with Jay right before the season started made it sound like Reaves was going to get first crack at 2B and that could very well be the case. I'm a big fan of Reaves and wouldn't have an issue with that. The biggest question mark with Reaves is can he constistently make the routine defensive play. Dardar might have some limits on his ceiling but he is a good ball player. He has power, can hit SEC pitching and has been very consistent defensively from what I have seen. There is going to be plenty of rotation at 2B, with Pearson, Simpson, Clauss and Ruckert also in the mix there and we don't know who will be there at the end of the season. It wouldn't surprise me if it were Dardar.

Outfield:
Harden- I love Braun and Patrick has a very high ceiling but I really like what I have seen from Harden so far. Being a JUCO guy, he has had more time to develop than the other two. He is in great shape and had three HR's in the fall. It's going to be hard to unseat anyone in our starting OF but he has enough potential to make an impact this year.
