Supreme Court Orders CA Dems To Justify Prop 50 Maps

The Supreme Court’s request for a response puts California Democrats’ new congressional map in limbo as Republicans argue it amounts to an unconstitutional racial gerrymander.
This is certainly forecasting what is about to happen with the racially gerrymandered districts all over the country that will soon be ruled unconstitutional.
IT WILL BE GLORIOUS!!

SFP will not be amused. Sounds like another night of cheese puffs and porn for our esteemed lake Charles wanna be. I predict him waking up with an orange dick and a hangover.

This is good news; however, the dems will become desperate and pick another couple of states to join MN and act the fool. I'm guessing CA & IL.

Don’t celebrate yet, we’ll see. From the article:
“The request for a response is just that, however. The Supreme Court could still decline to take up the case. The high court is already deliberating over a voting rights case in Louisiana, the decision in which could impact its decision on the California map. In October, arguments concluded in a landmark voting rights case, Louisiana v. Callais, that will determine whether Louisiana’s 2024 congressional map, which includes a second majority black district, is an unconstitutional racial gerrymander. A high court decision is expected any day.”

I’m shocked that Kagan asked for this.

Lol @ SFP
Have I ever even commented on CA's prop 50 maps?

I think they’re already trying to redistrict in IL

I will have AI investigate the SFP log in the TD politalk database and let you know.

There may have been a tangential reference in a general gerrymandering discussion, but I doubt there is anything substantive or opinionated.
That's california bullshite.

Exactly. Which is why I feel the racial gerrymandered districts are about to come undone. They have to be unconstitutional. Kagan obviously knows which direction the SCOTUS is going.
Even if they do not accept this, the upcoming SCOTUS decision will remove it.

The three liberal justices will consistently apply their reasoning from the Texas case and find this to violate the voter rights act.
The conservative justices will flip their reasoning for no coherent reason and the new maps will be thrown out.

You act as if Republicans aren't equally as guilty of gerrymandering the frick out of states too.
Hell, Indiana Republicans were condemned to hell by MAGA for refusing to gerrymander the frick out of the state like Trump wanted

You just gave an example where Republicans did not gerrymander. Not a good point on your end.
