And not a single lineman blocked. It almost looked intentional

Unless it’s 4th and inches, take the points

Looked like a bad spot too

Unnecessary risk at this stage of the game when you are up.

So 7-0 is better than 10-0?

Why do you think you’re special enough to start a new thread for every thought that pops into your idiotic brain?

It’s stupid. It’s the AFC Championship game. You take the 3 points & move on. ALL of these coaches are now so paranoid that everyone(players, fans, media) will say they are not aggressive enough.

Take the points especially in a championship game.

Chance to go up two scores your stout defense, and you decide to go for it wit a back up QB.

Sounds on brand for Payton. Made some of the worst decisions like this all the time with the Saints.

It depends on the circumstances in my opinion. There’s a difference between trying to put a team away and gambling in Q1 of an AFC title game. In this scenario I would have taken the FG.

Thankfully football has moved on from the “take the points” dumbass views espoused in this thread.

They had already been stuffed by the Pats front on a 3rd and short earlier in the half.

Take the points and they have a 3 point lead right now.

FG attempts in the red zone are a win for the defense… this isn’t the old days when games routinely finished with both teams under 20
