Started my annual Mass Effect series replay.

I don’t care who you are, this game is still amazing.

Plan to get in on PC so I can get updated mods for it, but what I would give for a full revamp with updated graphics.

That game is how a story should be told.

No hamfisted humor. Just galaxy spanning intrigue with a well-paced plot.

Yea, it had its issues, the mako and planet travel and the menu, but, man, seeing the cutscene when you fly up to the citadel for the first time is a top 3 gaming moment for me.

ME is still one of the greatest games of all time.

That is all.

Fantastic game! I just replayed it about a year ago too and it holds up well (especially in the Legendary Edition).

That cutscene is great, but the scene in Mass Effect 2 when you walk into The Afterlife bar the first time is my favorite of the series. The music, the atmosphere, everything!

I played the trilogy for the first time a few years ago...I know...what took me so long!?

The reapers being introduced at end of first one. Amazing.

The 2nd one is a masterpiece. So many great quotes.

If Scruffy plays on PC, I would highly, highly recommend playing with mods. This is my (now very old, so you would need to check to make sure they all still exist) mod lists for all three games. Mostly quality of life stuff but with some significant alterations to ME3 that, in my opinion, significantly improve the experience:

Overall?

ME1. Nostalgia plays a part, but it is easily my favorite.

Very close is ME2, and it is right there behind it.

With ME2, the combat is better and the ending mission is great, but I still think the first appearance to the citadel and the final battle for the citadel are too damn hard to top.

The world-building of ME1 is just so damn good. imo it’s the only game that gives you that true “I’m the captain of my own destiny amongst the stars” feel.

ME2 is a mechanical upgrade in almost every way and a masterpiece in its own right, but it’s also where it feels like the story starts to become more of an action shooter rather than a true RPG.

Exactly.

ME1 just feels like you are in a true open universe.

ME2 is more linear. The story and the characters are great, but the world feels more enclosed.

And in hindsight, it’s the Arc of the Covenant of the series: nothing you do in the main quest ultimately matters

I still need to play through the series. I’ve only got like 2 hours into it back in the day.

It is. That’s the community preferred mod manager on NM (or at least it was as of a few years ago when I last played). You can see the NM logo by my username in the top right.

favorite game franchise of all time.

ME2 is my favorite game of all time.

When the LE was announced i was hoping they'd revamp the combat on the 1st two as combat was near perfect on 3.

Also disappointed multiplier wasn't included in 3 on the LE.

Playing as an Adapt rules being able to use Singularity then Warp them out of existence is just hella fun.

Might be time for another play through, never done one as an Infiltrator or Engineer might take on that challenge next.

I need to do a replay of them, I played them each once on release.

I quit playing Arc Raiders because I was tired of being mad all the time. I need something like this
