Don't know if anyone else picked up on this but I sensed a big change in Lane's demeanor from his introductory press conference. In that conference he seemed a bit uncomfortable, almost as if he was questioning if he made the right decision. He admitted that he was comfortable at Ole Miss and loved his time there. The breakfast conference he seemed almost surprised and shocked at the amount of support and buy in he as gotten here. I think Nick tried his best to express it to him when selling LSU to him, but I dont even think Lane could have imagined how much the entire state of LA supports LSU and how he would be given everything needed to succeed. Its almost like it clicked for him that I can do big things here. He seemed really excited and eager to get going. Was happy for the guy after making a big life changing decision. I really think we are about to go on a serious run in both competing for NC's and competing for number 1 recruiting classes.

it was a weird time...he had a lot of weight on his shoulders...press was hating on him and his old team was still in the playoffs.

He's kind of an awkward dude. Don't read too much into his body language and demeanor.

When read the written statement, he was pretty nervous. As he answered questions from the media and just answered off the top of his head, he opened up. Felt like a holy shite moment for him. Like he didnt believe he was really standing there as the Head Football Coach of the LSU Fighting Tigers.

He's awkward yet personable at the same time.

Check out how fidgety he was before the Egg Bowl. I asked on SEC Rant if the Ole Miss fans had seen him act that way before. They all said no. I knew then that he was leaving.

He just wasn't ready to burn any remaining bridges. He's since let that go and is now unapologetically himself.
