Finally, LSU should be able to rush the passer with 4

Unlike a lot here who thought LSU's DL was fine, I have not...at all. I complained about their play during this past season mainly about the lack of a pass rush with only 4. In 2024, Swinson was providing a lot of the pass rush but no one stepped up in 2025. Hard to say about Reliford because he was hurt early.
But finally, LSU might have a true edge rusher so that Blake Baker doesn't have to send an extra guy or two every passing down. Even then, the 3rd and long conversions were depressing. Princewill Umanmielen should provide LSU's best pass rusher in years!

Hopefully it’s just like the good old days with Mingo, Brockers, Logan and Montgomery.
ETA: man, that 2011 defense was loaded

Watching Miami's DL during the playoffs, all I could think was:

2011 DL was elite, but the DL in 2006-2007 with Glen Dorsey, Chase Pittman, Tyson Jackson, and Ricky Jean Fracois was LEGENDARY

It’s WELL past time to have an attacking & dominant DL

Playing aggressive man and rushing 4 should be the main 3rd down gsmeplan. Was so damn sick of seeing the soft zone blitz on 3rd downs it’s maddening

Gave up the most 3rd and longs in the country

I mean yeah, there are definitely a lot of good ones to choose from. I was just at LSU for the 2011 squad so they always stick out. Crazy how far we’ve come in terms of QBs since then

Junior Glenn Dorsey is the best DL I've ever seen at LSU

Yep, huge as we have not been able to “get home” with 4 with any consistency for a while now.
Princewill definitely changes that.
You gotta think on the other side, one of many very talented players will also be able to get home. We have ton of guys going into their 3rd year of college and from a physicality and experience standpoint should be ready to take off.
Relliford (3rd year high 4 star), Ross (3rd year former 5 star), Jaylen Brown (3rd year former high 4 star), Shanklin (2nd year former high 4 star), and Lamar Brown (1st year former 5 star).
I could add a few more names even, but gotta think one of the above will be a stud next season.

And not get our quarterback killed with the other team rushing three.

The guy works out at the same gym where I drink water and hold the treadmill down. He married the daughter of some friends. He’s not big at all anymore. I’m thinking about giving him a wet towel snap, yelling that was for Dorsey and running away.

My X feed lately has shown Spears pick 6 in championship game. What a great night.
