Just Remember Re: Expectations for 26-27 Season

Aggies went out and out spent every team and were rated highly and still tripped on their own dick.
I like all the talent I am seeing but this won’t be a magical over night fix. Every member of our starting offense will have never taken a snap together.
I am cautiously optimistic about next season, especially with Brian gone but there is a lot of unknowns and geling that will need to happen in a relatively short time.
Or it all works out, Leavitt wins the Heisman on the way to an undefeated season with Harlem Berry 4th in Heisman voting and a 20 point average margin of victory. Geaux Tigers!

I have been saying a lot of the same things. The potential is absolutely there. But, getting all of that new stuff to mesh together isn't easy. I have to admit that Lane is making it difficult to temper expectations though.

One of the main differences here is we aren't relying on a bunch of 18 year olds to win it. Lane went heavy into the portal and many of the guys we are getting have years of starting experience

I mean…. It’s the Aggies. Of course they would find a dick to trip on

You're talking about the Texas A&M team that started 11-0 and hosted a playoff game? Expecting to win the national championship in year 1 is crazy, but your example here proves why expectations of competing for a championship are very much valid. Texas A&M choked, but they did still come very close to beating a Miami team that proved to be a top 2 team in the playoff.

Aggies spent a crap ton of money on incoming fresmen, unknown commodities.
We spent a ton of money on filling our roster. Most of those guys had really good production at the collegiate level. There's always risk involved with spending money. Especially when you have a new roster AND a new coaching staff. But I'm confident we will do better than 7-6!

On true freshman.
We have a great mix of returning experience, P4 transfers with 1+ Y exp., and true freshman impact players.
Apples to oranges comparison

All hinges on Leavitt. How fast he’s grasps the offense and how soon he can start throwing with our new WR’S.

They bought up a massive recruiting class being the difference, we're buying guys that have a few years of experience in big time football
offense could start slow as its basically starting from scratch, but with the talent on D returning and being added they should give them time to find their footing
Does all this talent guarantee us a NC? No, we just saw two of the more talented teams not even make it to the semis in the playoff.
I'm fine with just returning to relevance and being back in the mix

Expectations for 26-27 Season
In contention for SECCG
In the playoffs
Competent on both lines of scrimmage and on both side of the ball
This should be the standard for every LSU team. Anything beyond this means you aren’t a top 10 team and that should be unacceptable for LSU

Two words: DENVER HARRIS
Two more words: TRANSFER PORTAL

The expectations are "10-2 gets you in the playoff conversation" and that is absolutely what our expectations should be going into next year. The floor is we resemble 2025 Miami. The ceiling is Indiana. That's what we paid for, that's what CLK came here to do. Period.

A productive Spring and players showing up for Summer workouts are the keys. Spring is when you create your team. Fall camp is season prep.
