If tweet fails to load, click here. Because warming up your own vehicle before work? That’s now “unnecessary pollution.”
Without warning, Germany ordered Lexus to remotely shut down the remote-start function on combustion vehicles—leaving over 100,000 drivers stranded in freezing temperatures. A Toyota rep confirmed the move, calling it “compliance.” But compliance with what? This is the new climate authoritarianism—where your ability to heat your own car is revoked overnight with an app update
The World Economic Forum said it plainly: “You will own nothing.” And now it’s happening—renting features, renting heat, renting freedom. The pretext is the climate. The real goal is control. And electric vehicles? They’re even easier to shut down.
Today it’s your car. Tomorrow it’s your fridge, your heat, your bank account. One “wrong” post and Palantir’s AI could decide you no longer deserve access.
The solution? Unplug now. Say no to smart cars. Say no to smart anything. Because if you don’t control the ON switch, someone else does.

I work in the ag. industry- John Deere….like the supposed mom and pop and apple pie people- are moving to subscription based services.
I spoke at an industry event a few weeks ago and said “You think Deere likes you? No, Deere likes your money. They are a publicity traded company who learned how to make $10B in 2023- they will tell you they love you, all while making their shareholders happy”
In Deere’s world, they will bill able to subscription a lot of features on the product that we normally take for granted as “stock”
Want the PTO? No problem- subscribe
Want the 3 pt hitch? No problem- subscribe
Deere will say it saves money for fleet operations that don’t use some of those features (yes, some big tractors don’t have a 3pt or PTO) but they will not reduce the price of the vehicle and then upcharge the hell out of you to turn these things on.

But tariffs are hurting the soybean farmers.

They tell the service members and civilians not to use it here in their POV which is completely stupid. I do it anyway especially with my diesel. My neighbors are cool and do the same as do many people here. It is an insanely stupid law.

I just started mine for no reason to show support to Hans and Abdullah.

In cold places you have to defrost your car before you can drive it.
You can either do that with you sitting inside your car or you sitting inside your house. Car is going to be running the same amount of time.

Well you aren’t going to one up me.
I’m going to crack up the Kubota. May even dump some old oil and diesel in the stream.

Thank Goodness I live in the USA, but not Colorado!

The ONLY reason that farmers are in a pinch right now is because prices are down and in the same breath, corporate greed raised equipment prices 80% in the last 10 years.
It was all working great for Deere until prices fell.
Make no mistake- farmers are struggling right now. But, if the tractor they bought for $150,000 a few years ago didn’t magically become $250,000 they would be cash flowing much better.

Car won't go into drive mode without the fob in the car. You can't walk up to a remote started car and just drive it off.
They know they're lying, and their followers blindly believe their leftist bullshite.

F*** that it's cold. I'm looking to bring back the South African flamethrower cars myself.

Been like this for years in Germany. Warm up your car in winter? Your German neighbor will come over to scold you. Then you tell them get bent? They'll call the polizei. Idling in a parking lot, the polizei will tell you to turn it off. Those people are brainwashed & lost.

And this is why I am no longer a new car buyer. As long as the OEM has access like this to the vehicle I will not drive it no matter how much money i have. I'll custom up an older vehicle.
Just not American to allow this kind of control over something as private and independent as your vehicle.

It may accidentally make a North African "refugee" cough on their way to grope a German girl. Can't have that.

Yeah, this must be an old law mindset from before auto-start tech, where people actually started it with their key. Also, back in the day where you could safely do that in your suburban honkey neighborhoods.
People in places like TX and FL need to push their reps to make laws against OEMs from making changes like this in the system. States like those have the pull to do what CA has done to force the national implementation of their leftie crap.
