Lovely Dame Angela Lansbury as the ill-fated Sibyl Vane:

Board favorite Donna Reed (a year before It’s a Wonderful Life):

And an uncredited beautiful blonde who Dorian has shamed. Photo from screenshot, can’t find a still.

Anyone know who this might be?

I watched an interview with Angela Lansbury talking about Blue Hawaii and her remembrance of Elvis Presley, she seemed like a really nice person.

I haven't seen Dorian Gray but it might be worth it just for Donna Reed.

With the new Fox/Hulu show 'The Beauty", and so many celebrities getting plastic surgery, The Picture of Dorian Gray is probably worth watching today. Just proves some subjects are timeless.

The book is an absolute gem. Hard to get through, admittedly, but it is such a great book. You get the impression Wilde legit got high off the smell of his own farts but he makes it work. I like to think this is the book Hugh Hefner would have written had he had more talent than taking pictures of naked girls.

No, it's not Lillian Bond. I'm pretty familiar with Bond, and in fact, just watched her a few weeks back in "Stepping Out" (1931), which gave her a pretty good spotlight.

I don’t think so but happy to be proven wrong. Draper is uncredited as Mrs. Vandeleur. I am not certain but think she’s a guest at a dinner party.

The actress in the shot above is on screen for maybe 10-15 seconds as Dorian walks into a room and a voiceover discusses him brining shame to friends and acquaintances.

I wonder if it’s Ann Lundeen, listed as “Beautful Young Woman.” I couldn’t find any pictures of her, but it looks like she was an extra in 4 other movies.

Great movie.

Sad how later versions were a pale reflection of the 1945 version.
