House was awful the 2nd year, but Speights was injured and played objectively bad even when he was in perfect position to make a play. But yes, House didn't help.

Do y'all remember the last game of that season at home in 2023 against A&M? Daniels saved us in the end after our defense couldn't stop a 3rd string QB. A&M threw that screen pass to a big slow white fullback who ran down the sidelines for a TD and Speights actually missed the tackle twice on the same play. The fact he's contributing at the pro level tells you everything you need to know about Matt House.

People forget Speights was first team all- pac 12 before he got to LSU. House was clueless and Speights looked lost and so did the defense that year. How many times that year did were there wide open receiver with no one around them? We never covered running backs out of the backfield or tight ends either. Looking back we were so bad. Lol
