I go every Sunday. But I skipped last Sunday. Back today, their menus were new, some new items. But most notably, the bacon seemed different. Thicker and smokier. Not sure if I like it better or not as much, but it definitely seemed different. They were too busy for me to chat it up and get the answer myself. Have yall heard or noticed anything yourselves?

I ate Waffle House last Saturday afternoon. I got a patty melt with bacon. It was delicious. I didn't notice anything unusual about the bacon.

You probably have the most Waffle House experience to shed light on this.

Could just be a temporary supplier issue as well.

It is now your mission to go tomorrow and see if you notice any changes, so we can put this topic to bed. Thanks for volunteering your service.

I've often wondered if long ago some Waffle House genius sourced ingredients and methods that could be prepared in a way to be served at the same time.

If true, a waffle, hash brown, t-bone steak, bacon, and burger could all be portioned to cook on the same griddle and finish at the same time.

Maybe the bacon they were getting before cooked too fast?

They use expo now, so the guy with the tickets calling stuff out is conducting the timing on all that. It's an amazing machine.

I'd kill to have a Waffle House near me.

I have to drive to Austin or Houston to eat at one.

Sounds like a franchise opportunity. Look into it. No Waffle House has ever failed.

I'm moving back to Alabama in 5 months. There are two Waffle Houses within 5 miles of my future house.

But living without one for 6 years has sucked arse.

I can think of two former waffle house locations in Baton Rouge. Florida near Little John and Airline between Choctaw and Greenwell Springs

Rent hikes killed that one. Also an Athens downtown location that was always packed closed down, rent pushed them out.

Get a Waffle House franchise that isn't a rental.

Waffle House is almost all corporate owned. There are some legacy exceptions though I think but not many.

My standard order: hash browns, smothered, covered and capped. Two eggs over easy on top. Side of sausage. Raisin toast with grape jelly.

Hell, my go to order hasn't been listed on the menu in years.
