I am one of likely many thinking of attending the spring game for the first time this year.

What is the day like on campus and around Tiger Stadium for a spring game? Similar to a Saturday or just some tailgating until game time?

It’ll be different this year that’s for sure. I think Kiffin kinda does like a fan day thing.

Well good luck. Because Lane doesn’t normally have a spring game.

**The only caveat is that with the portal only at the beginning of the year he wouldn’t have to worry about teams poaching his players so me may change his mind

The game itself is always whatever but there was a time where the outside atmosphere was a good time. Lots of tailgates and crawfish boils. When it coincided with a baseball weekend campus was really fun especially off Nicholson.

A party, and 7 on 7 flag football. Big change. A fun experience instead of stressful and pressing.

LINK

This was a guy with no arms texting with his toes while the team came out spring game 2022. Guess the links broken.

Honestly, there is not too much to it at all. No tailgating or anything like that. Just a couple of sections in the lower bowl filled halfway with fans. They just run some plays and try to connect on some deep balls to get the fans excited. I usually try to attend because I am jonesing for some football by that time and all of the hunting seasons are over. But it is really not a big deal at all….just a day to hook up with my buds to have a steak, drink some bourbon and talk ball in the off-season.

ETA: If I remember right, there has just been some kind of autograph session for the past couple of years.

Plan on going to what? Like I posted Lane doesn’t normally have a spring game. He still may do a “fan day” like he did at Ole Miss but it won’t be a spring game.

Historically, it’s probably the best time to help your kids and grandkids meet players and get autographs and stuff. Took our grandson in 2018 - he got to talk to and has a helmet filled with autographs of many of those superstars.

There hasn’t been an exciting spring game since “bring back the magic”!

If they do a Fan Day and line it up with a Baseball home series, my wife and I may go. We were just talking about picking a baseball series to catch in BR, or possibly going to Starkville for the State series.

I wonder when they will give dates for Spring?

Now that there is no spring portal, you can have spring games again.

I used to go on a regular basis years ago but in recent years it has turned in to a glorified practice session. I haven’t been in a while.
