Watching the LSU meet right now and it’s super close. As soon as a gymnast for UGA finishes, you can see one of the judges (who sit together) look over at the judges score sheet next to her. No reason to do that other than to see how to score.

That’s not another judge. Thats the score holder. The 2 judges on each event sit opposite the apparatus from each other

Yep. It’s been a problem forever and it doesn’t look like anyone has any care to change it.

Ok, thanks. I’m learning this gymnastics stuff. It’d be much easier to pay attention to stuff like that if there weren’t superb asses left and right!

Lady Gym Tigers lost that meet all on their with falls on floor, bars and could stick landings on vault. Beam was best event tonight, building for later in season, rotations are being sorted out on each event

You seemed pretty confident in the OP there…

How do you change it? The sport is basically based upon opinion. I know there are requirements in moves in a routine and there are deductions for mistakes and not performing certain moves. But you always see head scratching deductions or non deductions. How do you implement clear cut scoring and judging? What you have now isn't much different than judging a BBQ contest, its just opinion.

It’s why I can’t take the sport seriously. If any sport should be using AI it’s gymnastics. Get rid of these idiot judges

I don't watch much but it always struck me as too subjective for me and that the home team always gets a bump on that regard.

Damn the fan base insecurity even carries over to sports that don’t matter

the scoring system needs to be more precise....invites poor judging decisions

We'll see who comes out on top on a neutral floor when it matters.

One thing I told my children growing up...you can play any sport you want as long as judges are involved.
