Am I the only one who can't seem to understand how so many people idolized Elvis? Priscilla was 14 and Elvis was 24 when they met and I always found that to be a bit disturbing. I know those were different times and everything was supposedly consensual but it still seems rather creepy to me.

not going to try and convince anyone, hell, he's been dead for almost 50 years(allegedly,) but he was one of the most talented, dynamic, and electrifying entertainers ever, if you ever saw him live you would be in awe, that baw could work the house

If he didn't have bananas with it, he wasn't done shopping.

I've heard that. I was too young, but the videos are awesome. Seems like he was a good ol' southern boy, who could sing, had ladies swooning, was charismatic, loved cars and shooting things. Seems like a dude I'd hang out with...

At the rate he had gained weight, if he'd still be alive, he'd likely look like "Mr. Creosote" from the Monty Python days.
I remember the day his death was reported. I was driving home from a job and caught a light and just like the old days, they had a kid hawking newspapers at the light saying "The King is dead" and selling papers to people in cars.
The only other time I can remember that was when I was a kid and JFK was assassinated.

Yeah no question he was good at what he did but to me that's like saying Jared from Subway sure did know how to sell a sandwich so we'll let him slide.

terrible analogy, in fact, not an anaogy at all

why do we need to let Elvis slide?

I don't. But that's what I'm trying to say. Does he fall into the same category as the hot 20 something year old teacher messing with one of her students just because he was a decent looking dude who could sing and dance and work a crowd?

He's the GOAT. There will NEVER be another Elvis Presley and forget Priscilla as Elvis fricked some of the most beautiful women in Hollywood.

There was always a chance Elvis was still alive but being that he’d be 91 he’s probably dead even if he had been secretly alive.

There are several YouTube compilation videos of celebrities, band members, etc. that knew Elvis and share stories and memories of him. They all loved/liked him.

If you play Civilization III today there's an Easter Egg for Elvis's birthday.

Huge Elvis fan, but I do wish they met under different circumstances when she was older.
He just lost his mother and was devastated and overseas. She actually presented herself to be much older. Not an excuse or anything. Just saying they really did think she was older at first. They connected over the loss of his mother somehow. She appeared to be a really good listener. This was actually a brief time as he went back home shortly after they met, but he would later write to her. Once she turned older they connected back again and she moved into Graceland with her parents permission 2 months before she turned 18. They got married when she was 21.
Again, I do wish he met her at a different time, but Elvis was absolutely awesome according to so many different people that met him. So many incredible stories of charity and how he treated others. Many that the newspapers had no idea about.
It's absurd people like Quincy Jones wanted to call him racist when he was literally the opposite of that. He had so much respect and appreciation for all races. Even his black childhood friend said how he would always call his parents, "mam and sir" at a time where not many whites would refer to blacks that way.
When Elvis's daughter was born he called Nancy Sinatra and told her how concerned he was for the less fortunate children in the world, specifically poor black children. Think about that. His first and only child was born and that was something on his mind at the time.
There are so many wonderful stories involving Elvis and how he treated others. I remember a story of one of his backup singers getting really sick with possible cancer and he put his hands on her to pray for her and then she eventually recovered. Others stories of how spiritual he was with others and spending countless hours just singing gospel.
And I can't help, but mention Linda Thompson if Elvis is being talked about. This woman is absolutely awesome. She looks incredible for her age too. I wish they could have gotten married. Her story is pretty interesting considering she went from being Elvis's girlfriend to marrying Bruce Jenner. When she married Bruce she had no idea he was considering transitioning. It was only after they married that he revealed that to her and she was not okay with that, so they got divorced. There were no hard feelings over that. Especially since they had kids together. It was just something she was not okay with in a marriage. When Bruce got with Kris she actually did know he had those thoughts and was still okay with it enough to be in a relationship with him. Maybe she didn't care, because she wanted the fame. I don't know.
I think if anyone wants to watch a quick doc on Elvis they should check out Elvis and the black community 1 and 2 on YouTube.
