Big 10 Revenue Share Agreement

having gotten way into the weeds on this one: This is a horrible contract
Players get: the money the NCAA and conferences agreed to pay them
School gets:
Exclusive Rights to their NIL for the career (limited to school payments)
Liquidation damages equal to the future payments and past payments if NIL
the ability to adjust their compensation up or down unilaterally
the unilateral ability to terminate the contract.
Big 10 schools didn’t want to even release these to the public because they felt it would be give other conferences a competitive advantage.

The conference is evil and everything wrong with sports.

How does this work for a Bryce Underwood or all of those Ohio State guys?

this is all from what i’ve seen of the “model” contract the Big 10 put out for all the schools
if they have a good lawyer they made edits.

Remember, the commissioner at the time wanted to cancel the season in 2020.

It is a horribly drafted contract.

Clown shite. I doubt it would hold up in court.

Took an autistic, hated coach going after him one of them to get the media all in a tizzy and burn it all down.
Not the hero we deserve but the hero we need.

The fact that players signed these contracts are exactly why The schools do not want them to unionize and collectively bargain. While the uncertainty absolutely sucks for the coaching staffs and fan bases, the freedom of movement by the players through classifying them as students allows the schools and the conferences to retain the vast majority of the revenue generated through these sports.
The Cover 3 podcast was saying that if college football went to a players union with restricted movement the players would argue, and likely win, to get 50%+ of the revenue. Schools, and particularly coaches, don’t want that.

Nor should they. Nor should fans.

Those liquidated damages are massive. Basically saying players owe everything on contract back if they transferred

And every single one of those players is free to go to a non-big 10 school.
Even better, they can start their own leagues outside of the ncaa and setup their compensation terms literally however they want.
That sounds so easy. Why haven’t they done that yet, I wonder?

Standard contract. If your conference isn't doing this, you're doing it wrong.

That would be weird. He had you believing his lies and showing everyone how stupid you are for weeks, and you didn’t get any benefit out of it? That explains so much about you.

What do you call someone who forces you to work for them against your will profiting off your labor name image and likeness and won’t let you leave?

You mean the time he was going nothing and a cop pulled a gun on him and went through his pockets?
I know you probably would blow the cop after treatment like that.
Because again, bootlicker

it’s standard contract for your conference, and it’s extremely onesies.
Big 10 Schools have been trying to keep it under wraps.
