The double Standard for LSU and Lane

National media keeps hammering Lane Kiffin as the villain…
• New Penn State coach took 30 players from Iowa State
• 2 years ago Curt Cignetti took 25+ from JMU to Indiana
• Lane has taken ZERO players from Ole Miss to date
• 5 offensive coaches are still helping Ole Miss in the playoffs
• Ole Miss took 2 LSU players so far — and hired LSU interim HC Frank Wilson
Why all the hate for the Lane Train?
I guess the media always needs a bad guy to sell clicks

I'm just gonna embrace the hate!

I think it’s just because Ole Miss is in the semi-finals
But whatever, I really don’t give a shite what the media latches on to. People aren’t going to like LSU? What’s new?

Why do people care so much about this?
And why do you keep referencing Penn st that has nothing to do with the lane and lsu situation. For the first time ever a coach left his team while currently in the cfp. Shockingly that was a polarizing event and the media reacted.
There’s no need for 20 threads a day about this.

He is a polarizing figure and anyone in media will tell you that over the past month anything associated with Lane has significantly more traffic, so they will go to that well until it is dry.
Even if OM loses to Miami, you can guarantee that Lane will still be brought up in many stories.

To the rest of the country LSU is some hillbilly Swamp People shite. They don't like that LSU is "getting their way" because they don't want to think that some backwoods redneck hick school can be a top job. They didn't think Kelly or Kiffin would go to LSU, so now they have to make LSU look like the bad guy.

There's a lot of ill-informed people out there.

Guys, this is part of having Lane Kiffin, the media wants to talk about HIM because he is polarizing. It really doesn’t have as much to do with LSU as being made out on here, and is largely overblown to begin with.

Because he came to LSU and EVERYONE all over America thinks they are superior to “corrupt” and backward Louisiana with its Cajun-Creole population. A lot of yall don’t want to admit that, but there’s a good deal of that going on.
It happened when Brian Kelly left ND for LSU. It happened with everyone making fun of Orgeron and Les Miles and saying how they are a “cultural fit.”
It happened back when Saban was here and voting USC co-champs and the media hounding Saban every single year about when he was leaving. The reality is that people in Alabama and Mississippi believe they are superior to Cajun-French and Creole people in Louisiana. This is an ancient belief that goes back to old English-French rivalry.
So, the narrative is that Lane is corrupt and LSU is corrupt because for hundreds of years Anglo-American Protestants have believed that French/Spanish Catholics and Black people are corrupt and all of this gets projected into college football narratives, same as when a team from the South plays Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, or Penn State, a lot of southerners replay the Civil War in their subconscious.
They will all use this in recruiting, by the way. It’s a real problem. Winning will solve it, but for now, we’re caught in the media spin cycle and it favors Ole Miss.

How about the whole team going to Oklahoma State too? It really is total bullshite. frick all of them. They clearly know we’re about to be a major force or none of this bullshite would be happening. Like you said, embrace the here

Have you heard of Tulane or James Madison?

The media decided that Lane was supposed to stay at Ole Miss and was not approved to go to LSU. For that reason, everything must be done to drive that into a hostile reality.

I have and if you think that’s an apples to apples comparison you sir are a moron

It was the first time a major conf. HC bailed on his program on the eve of the playoffs since Bill Frieder at Michigan in 1989. But they also fail to acknowledge that it was Ole Miss who refused to let him coach in the CFP...not LSU. Tulane and JMU's coaches took other jobs before the CFP too. There was no outrage. That was because Tulane and JMU still allowed them to coach.

They are scared! LSU is about to dominate for the next 5/6 years

Because too many people still believe the fake news, even in sports. A lot of people out there that can't think for themselves.
