Is anyone vilifying Matt Campbell like they are Lane? Dude is raping his previous team...

30+ players he's pillaged from Iowa State and climbing.
Talk about torching bridges.

No and thats why people shouldnt care how the media paints us out to be. Every other school in the country is doing the same shite

Curt Cignetti did the same thing by taking all his James Madison players to Indiana. Everyone praised him for the job he did rather than criticizing him.
I’m starting to really think that the national media just hates LSU. No exaggeration
They would be praising Lane without end if he had gone to Alabama.
People like Rece Davis, Mark Ingram, Greg McElroy, etc. would be jizzing their pants at the thought of a Lane Kiffin era at Bama.

I disagree. They would be practically worshipping him if he had left Ole Miss for Alabama.

They’re not. Why? Because ISU and PSU are irrelevant and don’t threatened to become a juggernaut again like LSU does.

isu no
psu has a massively high ceiling

Difference is his old team isn’t in the CFP. People didn’t like the way Lane left and since Ole Miss is still in the news, people are continuing to talk about Lane/LSU.
Posted on 1/7/26 at 2:55 pm to clamdip
No because they’re not scared of Matt Campbell
Posted on 1/7/26 at 2:56 pm to clamdip
No. I actually saw a tweet saying something like "Isn't it funny that the only coach that can't pillage his former team is Lane Kiffin. Good on you OM."
You mean the only coach NOT crippling his former school?

Same thing with north Texas coach going to okie st and Franklin at VT

Oregon has also been talking to Demond. No reports on it other than a couple of people. Nobody cares.

The media always portrays LSU as the villain. They’ve done it with Wade, Mulkey, Kelly, and Lane. Even pointed and laughed at Les and O. Nothing new.

This. All the talking head narratives bleed down to the masses and now mostly every fanbase in the sport is coming together to shite on us lol. It's only January so this will go on for quite some time

I just asked this somewhere else. The same exact question! Get out of my head clam dip!
And one for the good ole days...

Quite of few of head coaches leaving smaller schools going to the bigger schools have taken a lot of their former teams players. I promise you if Michigan coach left for Ohio St. Or vice versa their would literally riots in those respective towns. As someone posted Cig. did it but he came from a smaller school.

It's not news b/c it's not LSU and Lane. CFB knows what's going to happen very soon.....
Posted on 1/7/26 at 3:14 pm to clamdip
Little bit exaggerated at 30+ when there is only 24 portal transfers and 20 are from ISU. But get you drift.
Posted on 1/7/26 at 3:15 pm to clamdip
Cignetti also took 13 players from JMU, which was the cornerstone to that first season at Indiana and some who played the next year.
From what I remember, Kiffin tried to get
2 WR
1 LB
1 RB
1 QB
1 K
That's 6 players. That would kill their returning offense, but they have enough money to pay for a portal QB, WR, and RB.
