This one we do. It's got more minerals in the most strategically important place short of Panama or Suez. If it's occupied by China or Russia it's going to be us that has to take it back. Might as well make it less likely for that to happen by having the US all over it.

They must have been handing out stupid pills on the street corner. It's a horrible f'ing place to live. Artic Winters are dreadful, add the level of isolation, and it's no wonder the suicide rate is high relative to the sparce population. That will never change, no matter who autonomously controls Greenland.

Yep. It's really just a larger version of Alaska with way less people. Native folks are the same ones along the North Slope of Alaska (distant cousins to the southern dwelling yupik culture.
Problem is all those folks going to be placed in Indian Health Services and cost govt alot of money because they also have loooooots of health/genetic issues.
Worth it though if you have a plan for extracting the natural resources. Mostly a fishing economy too.
