Without oil from Venezuela, they are frickED

Of course they are. They are propped up by Venezuela who is propped up by China, Russia and Iran.
It’s all about energy and the USA just cut off the flow of cheap energy to China. A brilliant geopolitical move.
China, Russia and Iran are scrambling right now and it’s glorious.

Cubans in Miami are all over this. Interesting to see how they respond

There is a reason Rubio is SOS. This was always the endgame.

Absolutely
It's all coming together.

If Cuba becomes a free market democracy I predict two things:
a. Las Vegas is gonna be in trouble. Cuba was Casino Central of the world and when communism shut them down it created the gambling boom of Las Vegas. Casinos will come back.
b. MLB will start minor league teams in Cuba. Cuban players have to escape via central America to get to the U.S. BTW, Tommy Lasorda was a minor leaguer in Cuba when the cops came and told him to get on the bus for the airport. Castro and Che have invaded the city.

Cuba imports about half their oil from Venezuela VERY cheap. In fact Venezuela used to routinely send them excess that they could sell on the open market for US dollars. Now all of that is gone.
That first tanker the US seized was bound for Cuba, that was over a month's supply.
They are immediately in big trouble, and they were already having blackouts for half the day.
It will be over before summer.

AAA professional baseball in the form of the International League in the ‘50s had teams in Toronto, the original Miami Marlins, and a team in Havana among other cities.

brilliant geopolitical move.
It had to happen.
It had to happen or else we were going to allow China to run the Saudi Arabia of the western hemisphere and fund their global expansion.
It had to happen or China was going to run South America via Brazil and Venezuela.
It had to happen or BRICS were going to end the petro dollar reserve currency standard within the next 24-36 months resulting in our fiscal collapse as we can’t anyone who would pass a balanced budget.
I can understand not being excited about it, but it had to happen and was executed as well as any coup I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.

Who said anything about attacking Cuba? Without being propped up by Maduro, their economy will rapidly collapse.
