I suppose you don’t rebrand the Department of Defense --a name built on the idea of protection—as the Department of War--a name that signals aggression-- unless you intend to act accordingly.

A fun ride for many previous anti-war comrades who now support full-scale regime changes.

A hell of a ride for those who are consistent in their thoughts.

The name change itself doesn't bother me, but it does make sense if they are on this path of aggression.

We were War Department through much of our history. The part where we won wars.

It is good to be able to do both offense and defense. That is war. Patton understood that. Dictate terms, keep the other guys off balance.
