This transfer portal and NIL is becoming ridiculous and the shameful NCAA is doing NOTHING but sitting by and watching it all go to hell in a handbasket. All for the players making money but if this is basically going the way of a professional league then they need to institute rules and contracts now!

And the NCAA's selective enforcement of such. Those things were part of what got us here.

But the one year and then transfer out to the highest bidder has made building a real program almost impossible, especially for those who can't afford to go out and buy their roster year in and year out.

Love seeing the sec fans who’ve been saying for years that they didn’t pay players are now saying everyone was doing it lol

Definitely agree with you. Signing day... who gives a frick. All about portal, NIL, etc. Destroyed college football as it was.

Maybe the younger guys like the new NIL stuff. Not for me at all.

At least the NFL has real contracts and players locked in, the owners still have the power and your favorite NFL team isn't an entirely new roster every year. In College, Universities, Coaches look helpless because greed begats greed.

Coaches are at least subject to contractual provisions.
What are players subject to at present?

Michigan, OSU, Miami, FSU, Clemson, USC, Oregon, Texas, Oklahoma, and many more have been paying players since the inception of scholarship football. Shut the frick up with this “The SEC is the only conference paying players” crap

Been saying for almost 10 years that we need to just make these guys employees already. Nothing will get fixed until that happens. Even that will still have issues as long as it's still tied to school academics. These just need to be straight up employees who are allowed to go to school there if they want.

NIL is not the issue here. Look at the recruiting rankings and you'll find the SEC is doing just fine when it comes to recruiting players from high school. The issue is the transfer portal and how every single offseason a coach has to recruit his roster to remain with the team. That shouldn't be how that works.

It’s not about the money. The unlimited transferring with no guardrails is absolutely absurd and makes the sport less fun.

On both sides. Schools telling player to leave just like player looking to leave.

Players making money doesn't both me, the unlimited transfer shite is ridiculous.
