The first manned flight of the Artemis program will launch NET February 6, 2026, and will send four human beings to the moon for the first time since the flight of Apollo 17 in 1972. The crew of Artemis II will launch, circumnavigate the moon, and then return home. The mission should take 10 days from liftoff to splashdown.

Godspeed to the crew of Artemis II!

I know. But it will be fun to watch the gesticulations for them trying to explain it away....

They aren't going as close as the Artemis 1 mission which passed 81 miles above the surface of the moon. They are passing over 6,000 miles above the surface on the manned mission. Not sure what kind of images they will get?

More government funding.

They have fallen very far behind the US commercial sector and China.

Money won't speed progress, but it supports the grifters.

Why are they orbiting so high? Apollo 8 was 70 miles above the moon.
